August/September HP Recs!
In a delightful turn of events, I've actually been reading quite a lot of HP fanfic over the past few months, particularly in September! Not only have I been trying to follow along with several fests, but I joined the 
gameofdrarry Wizarding Hearts game, which is essentially a challenge that runs through the end of the year and encourages you to read, comment, and rec Drarry fics for various tropes to gain points. Your girl LOVES a challenge (and a spreadsheet *heart eyes*) and I've been having a ton of fun working through my TBR list and finally having the motivation to read some excellent fic! As such, these are mostly Drarry recs, but there are a couple of other pairings thrown in for good measure. :D

Super cool Star Trek: Voyager fusion! (More fun if you're familiar with that canon, but definitely not at all a requirement to understand this fic!) The characterizations and dynamics here were spot-on and I really enjoyed how the author managed to fuse the two universes together. Super hot (um, I humbly request more oil wrestling in fic!!) and one of those universes I could absolutely read more in (though it was very satisfying as is)!

This fic was such a lovely read! Harry's been hit with a soulmate spell that means everything he writes shows up on his mysterious soulmate's skin and vice versa. His voice here was great and I enjoyed seeing him slowly get to know his soulmate without any preconceived notions.

Told entirely from the Muggle girl's POV, the glimpses we get of Harry and Draco here, and the depth of emotion, is truly wonderful. I can definitely see why this one is a classic!

There's a pointed moment of decision, a note about to be played, a silence about to end, and then he rolls to his feet and sets to cleaning.
It's the first constructive thing he's done in years.
Really lovely fic with some wonderfully lyrical prose. I really enjoyed the tone of this one, and the pacing was great!

Another one of those amazing fics I read and loved when I was still lurking; I finally got around to a reread and it was just as glorious as I remembered! Both non-magical and first person POV which are things that I tend not to read very often, but it's Femme, so they were brilliantly done. Draco's voice here is absolutely perfect, and I adored every single character. Plus, the whole thing felt incredibly British, which I always love.

Oooo, goodness, this was fantastic! The outsider POV here was expertly done and made for such a fascinating read, especially give the tumultuously passionate relationship between Harry and Draco. I felt so much for both of them here struggling with a relationship that's fraying because of Draco's actions and the obligations he doesn't feel equal to escaping. The ending is truly unforgettable and it's definitely a unique and gripping read!

The desire between them is clear, but they've definitely got some obstacles to overcome here, but the way it all played out was quite satisfying.

Draco's got this situation completely under control. Completely. At least until he doesn't.
This was everything I could have wanted and more from a Cruel Intentions fusion! You definitely don't need to be familiar with the book/movie to understand this one at all, but it's definitely a lot more fun to see the way Dicta incorporated the general plot and themes, which works amazingly well! The Slytherins here are quite distinct (and delightful amoral) and the entire fic is told through Draco's diary entries so we really get to see inside his head and follow him on his journey as he attempts to seduce Harry and (of course) falls for him in the process. Fantastic writing and a super engaging story with a really wonderful (happy!!) ending. :D

Aww, this was just the loveliest read!! I so adored seeing this older, more mature version of Harry and Draco, who've become friendly enough to create this Quidditch camp together and it was a lot of fun to see so many of the Next Gen kids here. The ending of relationships, especially marriage and especially with kids involved, is such a complicated thing, and I really appreciated how the author depicted it here, and how obvious it was that there was still a lot of love and respect there, and that the adults were doing the best they could. The connection between Harry and Draco was so wonderful and the way everything evolved and played out felt quite believable, even if the road wasn't always easy. Lovely ending, and just a really enjoyable read!

He goes off to Italy, intent on bringing Harry Potter with him--both as an Auror and a lover. The descriptions of Italy were so lush and vivid and the characterizations were fantastic. I adored their chemistry and the way their relationship unfolds over the five days, and the ending was absolutely lovely.

Plus some of the most gorgeous illustrations ever really bring this one to life!

Oh my goodness, is this fic intense! I'm quite particular about infidelity by the way this author really builds the feelings between Harry and Draco, you can really see how they both get to this point where their feelings are impossible to ignore despite their wives, and kids, and the stakes. Really gorgeous relationship between Harry and Draco, and the rest of the characters and relationships here are also brilliantly done. Definitely some angst here, and do mind the tags, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one!

The characterizations and the various relationships here, not just Harry and Draco, but the full cast, were all so amazing and really gave me all the feels. Wonderful slow burn that never drags and made 100k fly by!

Another one of those amazing fics I read and loved when I was still lurking; I finally got around to a reread and it was just as glorious as I remembered! Both non-magical and first person POV which are things that I tend not to read very often, but it's Femme, so they were brilliantly done. Draco's voice here is absolutely perfect, and I adored every single character. Plus, the whole thing felt incredibly British, which I always love.

Oooo, goodness, this was fantastic! The outsider POV here was expertly done and made for such a fascinating read, especially give the tumultuously passionate relationship between Harry and Draco. I felt so much for both of them here struggling with a relationship that's fraying because of Draco's actions and the obligations he doesn't feel equal to escaping. The ending is truly unforgettable and it's definitely a unique and gripping read!

You definitely don't need to be familiar with the book/movie to understand this one at all, but it's definitely a lot more fun to see the way Dicta incorporated the general plot and themes, which works amazingly well! The Slytherins here are quite distinct (and delightful amoral) and the entire fic is told through Draco's diary entries so we really get to see inside his head and follow him on his journey as he attempts to seduce Harry and (of course) falls for him in the process. Fantastic writing and a super engaging story with a really wonderful (happy!!) ending. :D

Aww, this was just the loveliest read!! I so adored seeing this older, more mature version of Harry and Draco, who've become friendly enough to create this Quidditch camp together and it was a lot of fun to see so many of the Next Gen kids here. The ending of relationships, especially marriage and especially with kids involved, is such a complicated thing, and I really appreciated how the author depicted it here, and how obvious it was that there was still a lot of love and respect there, and that the adults were doing the best they could. The connection between Harry and Draco was so wonderful and the way everything evolved and played out felt quite believable, even if the road wasn't always easy. Lovely ending, and just a really enjoyable read!
