Summer Beach Adventure - First Day of Travel

Jul 20, 2013 11:10

Fight was at 6 a.m. and to be on the safe side I got to the airport at 5 a.m. Though I would have preferred to get there around 4:30 a.m. That was the recommended time to arrive ahead of time but a neighbor told me that  no one would be at the check in counter until 5 a.m. When i got there i checked in. There were maybe ten people ahead of me. I checked my bag. This was fairly easy but everything is all touch screen and I had no idea. The attendant called me up and i was just standing there waiting and then they pointed out that I needed to actually use the touch screen to check in.

Last time I few, this was not the case.  How was I supposed to know? But that was easy. I just put in my confirmation code and clicked that I just needed to check one bag. I had already printed off my boarding passes. No issues at all~

And the Omaha airport is smaller so it was very easy to navigate. Security didn't take too long. I think all in all the whole process took me 20-30 minutes tops. I barley had to wait before boarding started. Apparently that starts about half an hour before you take off. Which, makes sense.

Take off was easy enough, i was a bit nervous but not as much as I thought I would be. It is so pretty to fly. I forgot to take any pictures at this point. It was early and I had only gotten about three...four hours of sleep. The landing at Midway in Chicago was scary~ Short and rough.

But! I did take pictures at the airport.

Whew. Two hour wait at Chicago.

But yay. And we are so close to our friend E but there just wasn't enough time to actually leave and see him and come back.

Fancy trash cans.

Getting ready to take off again. We got a row all to ourselves.

Grid system. Actually....i think this picture is upside down. Haha.

The best views are when you are at a level that you can't have your electronic devices on and I was just too tired to think to take too many pictures.

We made it!

Gabby and our best friend greet us!

Plans did not go completely like scheduled. I landed in the Charlotte airport and it was a good two....two and half hour drive to Asheville? It was hot. We were going to have a welcome home kind of party but everyone ended up having to work. T___T  So! Instead Bea and I did a little bit of shopping, got pizza, went to my old workplace and saw three important people at least. Then we watched Mushi-Shi over pizza and a beer. It was awesome. I still barely slept.

Oh wait. Very important to say! The pizza we had was Pepperoni's Gourmet Pizza. I had never had them before. It was delicious. I was hoping to find the menu online to look up what we had but oh well~
