Note: I will have to upload pictures later and I put notations of where I want them to go.
We got a very early start. Well, it was at least early for me seeing as I woke up around 6 a.m. I hadn't even set an alarm clock. I got ready, loaded the car, and then got breakfast in the lobby area. That was the worst I had ever had though (and I have been to several hotels before) I had a rubber egg that tasted bad and yogurt that you could eat with a straw it was so liquid. I did enjoy the biscuit though.
My cat did surprising well in the hotel room. However, as soon as I put him in the car it was a yowling battle. It took him two hours to settle and everyone time I would slow down because I had to stop at a gas station, he would sit up and start meowing and start looking for an escape. He did finally calm down.
I don't believe we had much more of Tennessee to drive though and that went smoothly. The drive through both Kentucky and Illinois was rainy.
There were some nice farmlands in Kentucky though!
There were lots of lovely bridges. Here is one while crossing over the Ohio River.
And I came so close to Chicago (well at least an exit for it). Of course Octopedes and I had to go to the left to St. Louis. Sorry to our friend in Chicago!
And we found an interesting little trinket when stopped for gas.
Then we finally arrived to St. Louis. It was cloudy and rainy here so you can only see part of the Arch. Octopedes seemed to enjoy the view though.
And then we arrived to Arnold, Missouri which is actually where my grandmother lives.
The drive was quite easy the entire time and traffic was not horrible though we did run into some construction through a few cities. Here is a small map from my GPS of what the drive to this point looked like.
We ate at
Culver's for supper. This was a yummy burger joint that is based out of Wisconsin. They also have delicious icecream!
