Happy pole day.  At least, Dec. 14 is south pole day, and I haven't yet gone to bed (don't ask), so I'm declaring that it's still the 14th right now.

Over Thanksgiving I went to NYC and saw the Race to the End of the Earth exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History, about Amundsen and Scott's race to the south pole in 1911.  It was wonderful ( Read more... )
