I cannot tell you how happy this made me. First for the flush of 'yes!' to someone else seeing the Holmes/Clarkey love. And then I read on, and your Lestrade! He's so wonderfully drawn, he's the Lestrade I wish I could right because it does him justice and then some.

The whole situation, the warmth of it, the sheer joy I got from their comforting acceptance is just…

(and Clarkey, Clarkey finally losing it and blushing and his stuttering moment of realization, it's wonderful)

AHHHHHHHHHHHH FINALLY A HOLMES/CLARKEY FIC! (thanks so much for pointing me to it, bb, I hadn't seen it!!)

This is just... lovely. Your Lestrade is very quietly awesome and self-controlled and sure of himself, which I love. I always get squeeful over Lestrades who are friends with Sherlock, rather than rivals, and yours does his friendship beautifully -- keeping Sherlock safe, even over his own position.

Your Hopkins made me lol, and OMG CLARKY IS ALWAYS LOVE. Him throwing Hopkins out for his quasi-innuendos was PRICELESS, and ngh, Holmes kissing him as he leaves the flat.... *purr*

I WANT TO WRITE MORE OF THEM NOW. with more kissing. but i also had this very sad thought about clarkey assuming he's only there because watson isn't. BUT, I WANT TO WRITE IT BETTER. because clarkey deserves loving attention. ♥♥

i... also had a thought that, what if part of the final problem has to do with clarkey dying - possibly at the hands of moriarty? ...and holmes and watson getting together after the empty house, yes, that too. ashjdkg. just.

OK SO THIS COMMENT HAS JUST BROKEN MY HEART MORE THAN ONCE IN MORE THAN ONE WAY.

I really liked the aspect of this fic that you don't get the sense that Clarkey is a stand-in for Watson; it would be deliciously angsty, though, if that's what he assumes is true. :((((( And then Sherlock would have to kiss away that anxiety once he figured it out.

And. Just. Gah. Omg. You would break my heart with that rewrite of the final problem. BREAK IT. But I would love you nevertheless, because I know you would do it BEAUTIFULLY.

I really, really didn't want him to be. I wanted it to be all positive and I was like, well, what if? What if there was a world in which Holmes and Watson really are BESTEST FRIENDS EVER and yes, Holmes was being a stupid twat about Watson's marriage but... he's a stupid twat and Watson is his best... well... only... friend. But when he starts having a relationship with Clarkey, it all evens out. And Watson is behind him 100%. ahsjdlg.

And Watson studiously Not Mentioning Clarkey in his stories to keep Holmes safe. ♥
