flood update
Yesterday was an interesting day, to say the least. I had two of my great uncles (75 and 69 years of age) pass away, within a day of each other... both of heart attacks. Had a dual funeral yesterday. It was good to see the family, but the circumstances sucked. While I was at the funeral the company that's doing the repairs to my house were out demolishing my kitchen and the flooring in my dinning room... I now have no cabinets or counter tops or linoleum in my kitchen now... also all the carpet in my dinning room is gone. It was odd leaving my house to go to the funeral while the 4 guys were tearing my house apart. My wood beams were still wet, and I think there is some mold... that's what it smells like. Now to figure out what I get to do next... been looking at flooring and cabinets and counter tops. Then today, a guy came out to check everything and see how the wood is drying. He says it should be ready by Monday. He will come back on Monday morning to check again and if everything is dry, he can take the fans and dehumidifier out of my house.
I just hope all this goes without flaw or any difficulty. I want to be past this. But on a good note, my cats have been handling the changes very well and are very clingy right now. Toby's all excited cause the guys moved the fridge and found all his play toys that he lost under there. Lots of play time today with him.
