and the flood rampages on...

It's been over a week since a water pipe ruptured in my attic, filling my kitchen and living room with 1-2 inches of water... I've had industrial fans and a dehumidifier running in my dining room and kitchen since then, making any sibilance of verbal communication, be it over the phone or in person, almost impossible. I have a wall that is still damp, and possibly molding in the insulation... a kitchen that is basically unusable and a dinning room/living room I can't stand to even look at since it is such a mess (with the carpet ruined and all my stuff from the kitchen in the living room). My insurance company has given the authorization for the company that started drying my house, to start the demolition/construction of my kitchen, dinning room and flooring... yet I havn't heard from that company in a week. I tried calling them yesterday... no return call. Will call them again today. They get phone calls everyday until I get my way. I can be very convincing. ::wicked grin::

I am starting to see how this little ordeal is going to play havoc with my psyche'. Plus, I may have a lawsuit against the builder of my house since the copper water pipe that froze had absolutely no insulation on it.. this problem possibly could have never happened if only it had insulation on it. How was I to know to go to that edge of my attic to check the water pipe? I'll leave the decision about the lawsuit up to my insurance company.... either way I'm not paying for a thing! That's why I've been paying so much into my insurance each year in the first place.

Hope to have better news next week...
