Matthew was browsing the shops of Diagon Alley, really just wasting a bit of time during an early, extended lunch break. His morning rounds went faster than usual, so he was taking advantage of some extra free time before he'd have to get back to all of that.
And his break was about to get even better, because he saw Elisabeth up ahead, heading in his direction. He hadn't seen her in.. blimey, it felt like weeks, at least, and it was always nice to see old friends.
His face broke into a grin as she got closer and he called out a teasing "hey, stranger" in greeting.
Spinning around, Elisabeth blinked a few times in surprise when she heard someone speaking to her. Most of her friends? Yeah, they were at work right now, so she certainly hadn't expected to see any--
Matthew!
Her grin widened as she quickened her pace, her dark curls bouncing a little as she approached, her giddiness written in her face. "Matthew!" She said in an eager tone. "Merlin, its been... its been ages!" Of course, she was being a little dramatic, but that was par for the course for her. "How've you been? Shouldn't you be at St. Mungo's?"
Well, if she was being dramatic, then so was he, because as soon as she was close enough, he pulled her into an excited hug, lifting her up off her feet as his arms tightened around her and he pressed a friendly kiss to her cheek.
"It has been ages," he pouted when he pulled back and set her down. He shook his head and grinned at her question.
"I got an early lunch today, finished my morning rounds early and I'm really glad I did now. It's really great to see you, 'Lis.."
