So they rewrote the Slayers novel for a younger audience, and Naga and Sylphiel have been added to the party...

This book comes out and I'm like "lol wtf" but I plan to buy it anyway because supposedly it's a nice, easy read, and I need to practice mah moonspeaks. Also, Rezo seems lulzy and it's possible they may have actually written Sylphiel into an almost interesting character for once, to my shock and delight.
But there is one thing that gets me, my friends, one Very Not Okay thing about this all... y'see, they changed Lina and Gourry's ages. Gourry is now 18... and Lina is 12.
LINA IS 12.
ALSO, THEY MADE HER EVEN SHORTER, PRESUMABLY JUST TO PROVE IT WAS POSSIBLE:
And like... on one hand, the age gap is actually smaller, but on the other, LINA IS TWELVE. So I was like, "WELL OKAY, this is kind of skeevy, but maybe they're just gonna write it straight-up platonic because of the younger audience and whatnot."
BUT HAVING STARTED TO READ THE SUMMARIES IT DOESN'T SEEM LIKE THAT IS THE ROUTE IT IS TAKING. I will post more on this when I actually have the book myself.
Plus apparently Gourry thinks Naga looks old, which like... I get that it's a necessary comedic effect because it's his literary duty to be a gigantic pain in the ass, but all I can think is WHY IS GOURRY A PEDO. 8|
...on the bright side, I got a nice icon. Also, this universe's Gourry is camper appable in case I decide to drop and then change my mind. I THINK ABOUT THINGS LIKE THAT, OK.
