(no subject)
It's been a very good few days. I had a great birthday (I had no expectations, thus everything was amazing - I love it when that works). Fanzi, Melissa (her sister), Carl, and Zhubin from high school came in and I realized again that I miss them and need to visit them/make them visit me. We went to the Anheiser-Busch brewery tour, and as Fanzi says, it's the happiest place in St Louis. Free pretzels and free beer. 2 cans worth of free beer. It's happy. And then we went to Barcelona for tapas - really really yummy. And then we went to Ted Drewes; again, really really yummy. And then Fanzi and I went to join people at Blueberry Hill, where I got very, very drunk. I might not seem that drunk, but that was probably the drunkest I've ever been. But then 6 mixed drinks and a shot in 2.5 hours would do that. And now I can drink legally in the US! It's happy. Yesterday was basically spent hanging out with the Uni crowd, which made me very happy. Yummy breakfast, a successful shopping trip, the not so fun failed City Museum trip, yummy homemade chocolate chip cookies, and a very nice time at the Missouri Botannical Gardens. And then a few hours of just hanging out and talking. Really quite a good time. Unfortunately they left this morning, and now I'm looking at 10 free days til orientation starts...
On the work front, I'm probably not going to be going back, except to clean things out and say goodbye to people. It's been aggravating since I can't do the experiments since there are no mice to do them with, but oh well...
