fangirls/fanboys are crazy (but awesome)

The people behind the Stargate franchises are getting rid of props and stuff from the series SG1 and SGA and will do so for several months. It's sad, because it looks very bad for the movie they were supposed to do. As David Hewlett said in his twitter, we should all buy the stuff and do our own movie! (He also said he thought about buying the ( Read more... )

Oh, I think they're gonna split it up into bitty pieces and sell it. Have you looked at how many items will only ship within the US and it *still* costs $75 for shipping?

would not surprise me that they'd break it in bits to make even more cash!

I know, even the shipping is a steal! I'm looking from afar and see stuff that make my inner fangirl make grabby hands, but geez.

Awwwwwww,David!
*draws hearts all over*

Dude, his wrist band is worth more than the entire black uniform of sex?Yep,someone definitely has a fetish, lol.

As for the movie-this is a VERY small amount of stuff they're selling and they tend to create new things for movies,so who knows?Maybe we will get the movie one day(I wait for 2 now-SGA and SG-1 movies)-me is forever an optimist, lol.

David is adorable. he said that he could not even keep his orange fleece from the pilot and bought his own! lol!

I KNOW! come on, it's a terry cloth wrist band, and they won't be able to clone Joe from the sweat that might or might not still be on it! lol!

oh, but that is only the first batch on sale, already the second vague is on... (with McKay's jacket and even Sheppard's leather one, OMG *makes grabby hands*). they'll do it for several months, with thousands of items. and when you sell the Atlantis stargate... :/

I'm usually an optimist too, but damn, I don't like that!

I love that orange fleece and dude, thats not fair that they didn't let him have it.

Cloning Joe from the sweat is a freaky thought, but so is paying 800$ for a damn wrist band, lol!Daniel's glasses kinda make a slightly more sense, because as awesome as John is-Daniel is still a more iconic character. But still,it's 880 for a pair of prop glasses that are not even real. But I do understand paying for the leather jacket, that one is a very cool item. And I would really love to get Jack's dogtags;)

Well,I guess if fans could pay hundreds of dollars for B.Spears chwed gum(ewwww)-paying hundreds fr wrist band or glasses is not that bad.

I've read that Jason said that they're not going ahead with a movie and that was months ago-I was still in Toronto.I think noone knows if there will be a movie for sure, but according to "MGM sources" they do plan two movies-one for SGA and another one for SG-1.Now,I don't trust these 'sources',because they are just rumors-but till an official source will confirm that both movies are dead,I'll have my hope!

Sheppard's wrist band (points to icon) reached 800$ REALLY fast.
It was you, wasn't it? *wink*

Don't you wonder, though, where these people come up for the money for this stuff? I've had a moment where I almost paid (I think it was about) $250 or so for a game worn jersey but my friend smacked some sense into me.

But what could you do with a wristband? *is wondering*

LOL! no, it was not me! =D I think whomever bought the wristband might be disappointed not being able to clone Joe from the sweat that might be on it...

I wish I had thousands of dollars to spend on stuff like that. the worst I ever did fannish wise is that convention in August, and although I don't regret it one bit, I would not do that several times.

hee, well I can understand the urge, especially when said jersey is RIGHT THERE. it's good to have people around when impulses like that hit. I used to buy stuff on eBay a bit, and it's so frigging dangerous, just a click and a credit card number away!

I stay away from Ebay...okay lately I have. *eyeballs Jason Kendall and Prince Fielder bobblehead dolls on work shelf*

But Lou, I wanted that jersey so bad. That was two years ago and I still think about it. How we could have snuggled together at night. And it was probably so sanitized that there was no DNA in it at all, but just the thought that it had been draped over Damian Miller's body while he was squatting to catch a ball...wait, what? Oh, okay. I bet though, that Joe's sweat was probably washed clean from that wristband. But still, $800? Shit. Have you checked lately? (or bid, haha?)
