I got a huge dose of that feeling yesterday.
I love reading novels about Prequel Trilogy Star Wars, and occasionally an Old Republic novel as well. Matthew Stover's Revenge of the Sith is SHEER BRILLIANCE. His work will be my role model for any and all sci-fi I choose to write.

And I get what you mean about the MOAR LIGHTSABERS though. I've only read one of those 'expanded universe' books, and it was interesting, but not nearly enough action.
Which of the movies is your favorite? I'm a purist, myself--I prefer the original, theatrical versions of the original trilogy, with 'Empire Strikes Back' as my fave of the three.

Oh, wait, you asked me which movie I liked the best. Definitely Revenge of the Sith. Few things are more amazing than the Battle of the Heroes. Two hunks trying to kill each other with lightsabers--what more can a girl ask for? ;)

I hated most of the prequels, but even I have to admit that the duel on the volcano was pretty damn sweet. The whole movie was darker and more intense than the other two (don't get me started on the appalling lack of chemistry between Padme and Anakin--total waste of time, that love story), and one of the really interesting things about the prequels is they shift the focus of the saga from Luke to Anakin. It's his complete story arc now.
Which is why, personally, even though the prequel duels were flashier and better choreographed, I like the one at the very end between Luke and Vader, then later between Luke and the emperor. The whole thing has been leading up to that point, whether he'll redeem himself or not, y'know?

The ending conflicts of the sixth movie are twice as interesting, now that the Prequels have supplied back-story. My only quibble is this: I think Darth Vader's last-minute decision to save Luke and come back to the light isn't believable. I need to see more inner turmoil and doubt with my own eyes, rather than just taking Luke's word for it. But that's just me griping . . .

Oh! By the way: I took Mom too see "Beauty and the Beast 3D" last night, and amongst the previews was a rerelease of the ENTIRE saga. In 3D. Starting with Ep. 1.

I guess I should try 3D out on a smaller screen, and see if I can build up an immunity or something. I don't want to miss a single second of The Hobbit when it comes out.
