Possible spoilers for the following.
Death Note 2 (link!)
This is a little belated since I watched it last Wednesday. :X But yeah. I think I like the first one better because it was sort of..more loyal to the manga? And the second one is relatively more simplistic (as with most movie adaptations?). But the way they managed to fuse the manga ending with the movie ending was actually quite brilliant!
I prefer Raito in this one. He grows quite a bit and actually fits the role suitably well. His transformation from angelic!Raito to evil!Raito was actually quite convincing!
I also like Misa! She's really cute and I love her dress sense! Later in the credits, I found out her clothes are actually from h.NAOTO and Baby! *_* She looks so good in the black jumperskirt(?). Few people look good when they don't wear blouses with their JSKs but Toda Erika totally does. Haha. And she totally managed to pull off the 3/4 pants + creepers look even though she's not wearing socks/stockings/leggings!
But... L. OMG, don't get me started please. Is he a clown? He speaks like a retarded robot -- monotonous, with no regard to punctuation. .__. Is L a retard? Is L a glutton? No plz. (And then I suddenly thought about the wonderful anime!L and his seiyuu... and I got further convinced that movie!L IS a retard ._.)
As for Takada Kiyomi... (spoiler alert! highlight to see)I didn't really like it that she became the owner of a death note? :S And that she didn't have a relationship with badass!Raito, haha. She's really pretty though. In fact, the broadcast journalists are all really pretty! *_* Takada, in particular, keeps showing off her pretty legs ._. And then later, I found out she's none other than Katase Nana. OMG! I have one of her CDs even. D: Don't ask ._.
But I guess if you've watched Part 1, then you would have to watch Part 2, so that Part 1 doesn't seem so stupid (on its own). Haha. Part 2's really long though. (141 minutes!) One hour into the movie, and I was starting to wonder when it's going to end. D:
Love*Com (link!)
(For the uninitiated, Love*Com is a cute love story between a girl who's too tall an a boy who's too short.)
This such a cute and colourful movie, the characters are all so cute! Everyone is always so well-dressed! And the best thing I liked about the movie is that (almost) everyone speaks Kansai-ben in it! (And it's cool because Teppei is from Osaka XD) And the part where Risa and Atsushi sing Umibozu at the karaoke is really quite funny. XD
Maity reminds me of Novala Takemoto somehow. XD I think Maity's purpose/raison d'etre in the movie is oversimplified. Like, what's his point? I don't really get it. It's a bit of a stretch whether you say he's there to bring Atsushi and Risa together, or whether he just likes Risa (which he doesn't really have any reason to, since he barely knows her? Er. And he's her sensei plz.).
Apart from that, I think they've done a great job with the movie because it feels as cute and light-hearted as the manga! The plot (which follows the manga closely) is a bit typical... but the cuteness makes up for everything.
I was really surprised to hear Whiteberry's Natsu matsuri because omg, how many years has it been since I last heard this annoying song? Haha. Nostalgic desu!!!11
Teppei is just... cute! ♥ He really is the best actor for Atushi! Maybe too good, even XD Love his cheerfulness and smile in the movie. XD He looks great in everything he wears, even the questionable fluorescent green jacket, lol. Oh, and he even has more well-defined arm muscles than Maity, who's supposed to be a basketball expert. XD (Not sure what the relevance is, but.)
Wentz is supposed to have made a guest appearance but I couldn't find him. D:
Special mention for Tamaki Nami because she fits Nobu-chan exactly!
I am a bit iffy about Fujisawa Ema (the actress who played Risa) though because there're times when her acting gets a bit awkward and exaggerated, which is just goosebumps inducing. D:
But overall. Even if you don't like Teppei, or have never read Love*Com, please watch this movie!!! :D
