So, I didn't finish the one fic I started this year (a TAB-inspired Mystrade), but that's not surprising, considering I had forgotten all about it and only started working on it again just before Christmas. I'll work on it some more after Season 4 and if it's not canon-compliant any more after the new episodes, well, I'll just consider it an AU

On the whole, not a bad year, I would say :) Also, would love to chat about Fantastic Beasts with you at some point! I admit, I was reluctant to see it, but I actually quite liked it in the end. Oh J.K. Rowling, way to reel me back in...

2016 was quite a good year for me, even if it was awful for a lot of people I know.

I'm a bit conflicted about Fantastic Beasts: there were parts I really liked and parts that bothered me, but I'm a hopeless fangirl, so whenever you want to chat about it, you know where to find me. :)

Feel free to tell me your opinions anytime, here or Tumblr or email or whatever! I guess I had set the bar so low, for whatever reason, that I was fairly forgiving, but I'm curious to know what you liked and didn't :)

I should really watch it again, as I forgot most of it, but I remember that one of the things that bothered me most was the Queenie/Kowalski "relationship". The gorgeous (and airhead) blonde falling for the average man is such a cliché, and it's never the other way round, it's never the very handsome man falling for the average woman. But that's just my inner bitter feminist, I guess.

The visual effects were amazing, though.

Ahh! I'm so sorry it took me so embarrassingly long to reply to this. Yes, agree!! Any time a relationship like that is built on such shallow ground, and in such a cliched way is super annoying. Like...yes, he's a nice guy, but Queenie will certainly find another...chill...

Oh, and another thing that left me a bit... confused was why they decided Newt should be autistic. Because that's the impression I got. Maybe to "explain" his passion about magical creatures? He had difficulties interacting with other people, so he focused on animals?

Yeah, I guess? I'm not sure. I guess that didn't really bother me so much, since I'm painfully shy (although not autistic) myself. But yeah...
