It all started with a comment I made in ladyeuthanasia's LJ last month about how utterly cool it is that the combination of USB, flash memory and MP3 players has made it possible to carry one's entire music collection around wherever one goes. So this morning I appear to have song virused myself with "I Wanna Be Bobby's Girl," and my thoughts keep bouncing from the feminist "Is that really all you want to be?" to the slightly smutty "Oh yeah? Just how thankful?"

On many Friday nights diskerror and I can be found at a bar called Ireland's 32, hanging out with friends and listening to a band called The Twilight Lords. Along with Irish ballads and 1960's/1970's era dance music, they'll play one or two sets of jigs and reels. Today is totally convertible weather and speeds on the 101 through the Valley are averaging 75-85 mph. This is almost unheard of on a Sunday afternoon.

Of course, I don't have a convertible. Got the right music, at least (uh, no, not America. way too mellow for 80mph).

...but diskerror's been humming the opening bars of "Aqualung" since we got home from the Tull concert - and I had to hand him my copy of the CD so he could rip it to iTunes.

I have Jethro Tull tickets for 17 Aug :)

Do not try to listen to heavy metal at ballad volume. It'll only sound muddy. Either crank it up or listen to something else.
