Actress required for a 30-min play!

Hi, I shall be staging a play I have written sometime this summer and am now assembling the cast and an actress is required.

Play title: Waiting for Goldman Sachs: a Satire of the Eighties, American Style
Style: Theatre of the absurd, very Samuel Beckett-ish (as you can perhaps tell from the title)

I wrote the play when I was 17, after a reading last night with arachne, I have decided to stage it. This is a two-person play and, as it says above, is an issue-based satire of the 80s. I'd say generally it's humorous, dark and fast-paced. I was influenced by Waiting for Godot when I wrote it.

It runs 30-40s minutes and is a minimal, 2 person play. arachne is perfect for one of the characters and I'm honoured that she has agreed to be in it. Thus, we need one more actress. I'd say, you need to be a little bit crazy to appreciate the role.

The plan is to rehearse until it's ready and then stage it at a blackbox theatre somewhere for one or two performances for goth audiences, to begin with. This will be a non-paying role (at least at first). I shall also be applying for an arts grant so there may be some compensation for your troubles and a proper run later in the year, if I can get a grant.

I'd say after you start memorising the lines, there will be 2 or 3 rehearsals per week. I'd like to get it staged within 2 months or maybe less depending on the adeptness of the actresses.

So if you or anyone you know may be interested in doing some acting, please let me know.

NB: depending on the response I get to this, I may also stage a 6-minute scene, also theatre of the absurd. That is also two person and would require a guy and a girl.

Oh and the best thing for the audience is that it'll be free!
