I am starting a project, whereupon I am attempting to get all my friends to make sound/portrait packs for the Infinity Engine games (Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, etc).

I'm doing this mostly for the amusement factor, since I can start screaming a friend's name aloud when they keep falling prey to arcane spell failure, setting off area of effect traps, or basically blaming their digital doppelganger whenever something bad happens.

Once I get mine done, I will post it... well... somewhere you can get it.

Include a small text document with your portrait/sound files containing the following info:

(Human race if possible!)

>All stats start at 10 points with 20 additional points to distribute.
(18 points max in a single statistic.)

>Two class preferences. If you don't have a clue, "Fighter" is always a fun choice. Not all fighters are burly sword-swingers!
(Rogue, Ranger)

>Feats desired up to fifth level.
(For both classes, if you have different needs.)

>Weapon, armor, spells, and other equipment preferred.

HoW 2?

Portraits

Two photos in .BMP format are necessary for each character.
The large photo (XXXXXXXL.bmp) for the character sheet should be 110 x 170 pixels with 24-bit color depth.
The small photo (XXXXXXXS.bmp) for the party sidebar should be 38 x 60 pixels with 8-bit color depth.

The X's should be replaced by a 1-7 character filename, just so you know. When you're done, place them in the "Portraits" folder in the game directory.

Sounds

The voices should be saved as 22 kHz, 16-bit mono .WAV files.
The format for each sound name is XXXXXXXa.wav -the X's can be replaced by a filename of up to 7 characters. The final letter of the name indicates which action/condition it will play for (detailed on the table below).

One of the Selected sounds is played upon clicking on a character; Rare Selected sounds are heard when the same character is selected multiple times in a row.

The Daytime, Nighttime, Forest, City and Dungeon sounds are all random utterances that are played when it is that time of day or you are in one of those areas.

The sound set can be selected either in character creation or from the Customize button on the Character Record page. There is no size limit for the sounds and the game should play them without a performance hit -within REASON. Generally, a WAV file around 6megs (pretty big) can cause a 1-2 second delay.
