Vanessa took a small chance and peered out her apartment window. Nate was still standing outside, looking up towards her, apparently ignoring the rain that was pouring down around him. S
he shook her head and took a step back from the window, closing the blinds and curtains.
He could say he was sorry. He could bring her roses, chocolate, or jewelry. She wasn’t going to forgive him.
It didn’t work that way. She wasn’t going to get sucked in by his money. And not by his blue eyes either.
Even if he was standing in the rain outside her apartment.
