Well I've been having a doozy of a time figuring this one out. I wanna app my third character (effectively last until something crazy happens and/or Bioshock 2 comes out). I've effectively narrowed it down to three people, so I thought "hey, polls are cool." and here we are!

Poll Who should Jeff app?
Explanations behind cut )

THIS IS LIKE ASKING ME TO PICK MY CHILDREN.

Adventure 2 is my favorite, because I think it came as close to perfecting how Sonic plays and the level design for him as the series has ever gotten, in 2D or 3D and the gameplay seamlessly blended with the story to give me some characters that I genuinely cared about and had a lot of fun playing as. It did everything so right, I was unbelievably disappointed when they moved away from it for Heroes and the lame games that followed. The replay value for me is so staggering I'm still occasionally hooking up my Dreamcast and giving it a go.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic 2 get honorable mentions for also keeping me interested like 15+ years after the fact. Sonic Unleashed comes after them because despite the Werehog being a lame idea that just should've been replaced with Knuckles, the platforming bits with the Werehog were okay, and the daytime stages with Sonic were eye-blisteringly fun.

Also, nothing wrong with being picky about Sonic games, there's a lot of. Really really awful ones out there too.

alright! I'll probably pick up Unleashed in the future (I never did because... well, Werehog sounded really lame)!

I had Adventure 2 for gamecube and I've beaten it... two -- maybe three times now? It's just so fun and awesome, guh. I also loved raising Chao, haha! Man there we're times when I would just play levels to make my chaos the best there ever because I loved them so much.

And I'd get so excited when one was ready to breed diojfodisjf THEY WERE LIKE MY CHILDREN.

I mean, that game was so good it made me get over my extreme dislike for the Rogue and Knuckles stages. At first they were just mildly annoying to me, but on Rogue's time stage? I seriously just. Wanted. To. Die.

Same with the planet stages because those levels were so huge and GUUH. |8

Man I need to go play this again ahha!

Just as a note; 360/PS3 version is miles better than the Wii version in terms of gameplay and level design. Wii Daytime levels mostly just...play themselves. There are comparison videos out there.

Rouge's stages were giant abortions of game design, I will admit that. I have yet to find anybody who enjoyed the one with those scarab robots, the timed one, or the space one. Knuckles's weren't much better, but the rest of the game was good!

lmao I just watched a video and THOUGH I AM NOT SURE WHAT I'M WATCHING the game looks super pretty holy shit. |8 I think I really need to pick this up now fjdsifds -- THANK YOU SO MUCH!

dude yeah, pretty much! haha, I mean I did... sort-of enjoy them because they were challenging (though at times they made me want to punch children).

I thought the robot stages were pretty fun, too, but my favorite we're the Sonic and Knuckle stages.

Haha, I remember one of the space ones where you spend practically the whole level grinding on space rails; I spent forever on that level, seriously. Shadow's in particular, I think? I also remember when I had to go back to get some... sort of item (I can't remember which) and just dreading it the whole time.

I ALSO LOVED THE ENDING WHERE EVERYONE GETS TOGETHER AND FDIJFOIDJFYRDFHUFSDF

/slowly... slinks away to play |8

...man now you're making me wanna go play it too.

Side-note; level you're thinking of that's 99% grinding is Final Rush, Sonic's last level in the Hero Story.
