Oh, I should have posted this a couple of hours ago.
Last night was... fun! That which I remember. Oktoberfest, day one, involved a night trip with taking in the vendors and then eatery-hopping between the open places behind their street kiosks. Not only do you have a much cleaner place to sit and eat, but they take plastic which is nice when you're at a festival with little cash and no ATMs around. So me and The Guys start out with "schnitzel and beers" (really good ones!), and move onto beers in souvenir cups, then beers and sausages, and then everything gets blurry. I do remember demanding funnel cake. All I know is eventually I flopped into bed, and woke up hours later with no pants. *shrug* I wanted to try and keep pace with Z, and wound up a full beer behind. Mildly embarrassing.
Today was less so. Even though rain threatened to wash the daytime festivities away, and indeed many of the booths were now uninhabited or completely gone. The home brew people were the neatest. But V and I finally got our funnel cake, and more sausage on a bun, and beer, and kettle corn. And home brew root beer! Those guys were different from the home brew beer-beer ones. But it was all tasty, I had forgotten how very good real cane sugar tastes.
Then I went and bought a bag of Brach's Caramel Apple Candy Corn. Not that I ate it all! I just tried a handful to see if it was as good as everyone was raving about. And it is.
So yeah, a full 24+ hours of deelishus things to eat and drink. I didn't realize I was such a big fan of beer.
