metal

amon amarth's new ablum rules. it's so tight so much the fucking appology we needed after fucking fate of norns.

god that sucked.

anyways. it's less sludgy viking metal and more melodic death. the guitar lines really travel and take the songs from place to place. the sound is so fucking clean i swear i'm listening to megadeath quality shit. not that i really appreciate megadeath. megadeath is yesterday and all they are doing is stagnating. it's a sign when metal was the *big 4* and now metal has matured like a cavern of aging fucking rum on it's 20th year.

this shit is like their 6th album, which means i've missed the days where they were exploring their sound. no big loss. there are shitloads of other metal bands to check out out there and new genre developments too. i think i've found the shit that captures where metal was going.

it's hatebreed, it's hellfire, it's heaven shall burn. it's no genre, it's no musical thrill of techicality, it's the bands that write the lyrics that force you to confront what you are. it's what punk was when it started, it's what goth was when it started, it's the breeding ground for the misfits the disenchanted and the lost.

the things that glorify in accepting the truth, dirty or divine.
