Bearcity

Thanks to the wonders of legal media backups which you can find online, Sergio and I watched "Bearcity" yesterday on Sergio's new 40inch LED television. There is no dubbed version in Spanish, so we watched a poorly and error-plagued subtitled version in Spanish.

We really enjoyed the film. Of course, if you go into details, some of them are really cheesy and some things are quite unreal. But it's a movie and that is what it is supposed to be. We really had a good laugh with some of the scenes.

I can't but write about the cheese of "Fernando" character. First of all, there is this absurd "barTHelona" pronunciation of the city. The non-Spanish accent of the character and the fact that he could live with the money he made as a go-go dancer @ the (now defunct) Bear Factory (Hey, it opened just twice a week) even if he had a university diploma. That was quite striking :)

The plot around the closed bear couple seemed to me the most convincent part of the script and I was very happy to see that it was solved in a humouristic and open way. My kudos in this aspect

And, of course, the main plot of "boy meets dad" is the topic in most love stories that come from movies made in the USA.

Fun was had. I'm recommending this to everybody.
