05) Oh lord, start me talking about my pets and I could use up ten pages. XD I have three cats: Braska, Ella, and Toby (pictures that I can come up with in a flash are here). Braska and Ella are brother and sister and will be 7 years old in March. Their back story: I was working for CARE when I fostered Jenny who had five one week old kittens of her own and two one week old orphaned kittens (Braska and Ella). Apparently some lady found Braska and Ella abandoned along with two other kittens that had sadly already passed away. She took B&E to Gail who in turn rubbed them against Jenny's kittens (to pick up their scent) and then introduced them to Jenny and she took them in as her own. Of course after fostering them since they were babies (and watching them grow up) I grew so attached that I had to adopt them myself

Aw, I love your cats! So cute. It's sad that people would be so cruel and abandon these animals. I'm glad you adopted Braska and Ella (and Toby) that they are in good hands. :) I'd love to have a cat some day, are they expensive and difficult to keep?

It's really awful how cruel and vile people can treat animals. I've seen so many heartbreaking cases with all the volunteer work I've done.

General upkeep for cats isn't too expensive (food, litter, yearly vet visit and shots- my cats have to get rabies shots every three years). But veterinary costs are quite expensive now a days. If emergencies come up, you can be talking big bills for vet care. And if you get a kitten there is quite a bit of vet cost at first, as you need to have to get it shots and either spayed or neutered. Overall you do end up spending quite an amount over the life of your cat. I read somewhere that here in America, we spends thousands annually on our pets.

Cats are really easy to care for compared to dogs. Dogs are much more a "social" & "pack" animal. Dogs love being around their owners all the time and they aim to please. Cats are more solitary, but can be just as affectionate and loving as dogs, and they love to spend time with you as well (my kitties always sleep on my bed with me, or curl up in my lap). Cats

I have always preferred cats, but recently grew fond of dogs as well. But then again, I just generally prefer animals to humans. :D My parents really hate the idea of pets, so I'm going to have to wait until I move out, but thanks for the useful info! :)
