1. Inge is completely incapable of shorting up his swing with two strikes. It almost seems like his swing gets longer with two strikes. A typical Inge thought with 2 strikes would be "Well, I really sucked the first two strikes so if I swing extra hard on this pitch and hit a homer then I will look great".
2. Inge is a horrible situational hitter. A lot of players have lower batting averages because they give themselves up every one and a while to advance a runner. A crazy thing to think about is how much higher Jeter's average would be if all those grounders to 2nd with a runner on 2nd counted as sacrafices. To Inge this is a foreign concept. I cant count how many times Ive seen a runner on 2nd with zero or one outs just to see Inge roll over a pitch and hit a weak grounder to 3rd base.
3. Inge cant hit the ball to the opposite field. This is related to the above issue but not completely the same. Since he cant hit anything to the opposite field you can pretty much pitch him away without having to worry. He cant fight off a pitch inside and hit it to right so all those inside fastballs that jam him, do just that, where a good hitter could fight them off and dump the ball into right field.
4. Inge can only hit fastballs. This guys a white Sorano. Enough said.
5. He is a horrific fielder. "Oh but Brandon gets to so many balls". So what? Lets not say just because a guy has range that he's a good fielder. He does get to a lot of balls, but he kicks a lot of those balls too. 22 errors last year. Simply amazing. Inge has a canon for an arm. Great. But he's got as good of a chance to hit the first base coach as he does the first basemen.
6. More to come.
