Back from the 8 days trip to visit our Fujian ancestral village 永春 and 厦门! 厦门 was extremely boring because the shopping there is simply not my type but 永春 was all sorts of fun! But first, all the foodie pics! Because I'm hungry.
Strawberry farm in 厦门! Best activity available there I think! Check out how perfectly red and pretty they are mmmm. And then it got boring for qiqi so she went to find odd-looking conjoined twins/triplets strawberries haha
Papa with our 3.5kg worth of strawberries hehe. S$20 for the whole lot!!
Trip to the market in 永春! All the aunties and uncles with their buys ( i think they wanted to buy more if not for the fact that our luggages were bursting with the dried goods ahma wanted)
Pork leg urgh VS fresh fruits! The latter definitely looks much more appetizing to me. I'm afraid I won't be a very good housewife; the family will have to eat fruits and veggies and maybe cold storage chicken only hahaa
T.T So horrific
And on the same afternoon, our relatives ordered this for us T.T Completely lost my appetite
Pigs' blood =/ And that bowl of red mushroom soup served during lunch that day reminded me of it. Had trouble drinking one bowl =/
Oh these were some of the random cold dishes on the first night. Thought the first one looked like badly-made kueh lapis lol. Pigs' ears. urgh. 2nd plate was some worms / bamboo i cant rmb but it looked revolting all the same.
So on the 2nd night bro and I insisted on Western food lol. Such a relief that they served the familiar steaks/chicken chops
Street food! So sinfully delicious and oily that I had stomach flu the very next day -.- Can't say it was very worth it because puking the whole day is not a very enjoyable thing
The roasted wings that I was dying to eat!! Thank goodness I recovered fully by then hehe. Probably shouldn't have eaten it anyway but I took the risk haha
1 of the 3 dinners we had at the village!! All lovingly cooked by our relatives =] Never really liked to eat pork but that was an exception because the pork was THE BEST! I swear. The rest loved the beef and mutton ( qiqi requested and got to da bao the beef back lol )
Cuttlefish! Too bad I didn't get the shot of it when we arrived - the tray was full, then halved, and then cleared. That's er.. 25 packets of cuttlefish for us 0.o Does not include the other packets of cuttlefish we bought from another store lol. Madness.
