It was a really fun moment, with Cat's hilarious arsenal of weapons and GA' deadpan rebuttals. Fun, fun scene.
I kept wondering what else she was going to pull out of her purse and I giggled when she called him Mean Arrow.
Also, can we please not have Lois ever mention Clark and God in the same sentence again. We've had enough of those comparisons from other characters in the past already
I second this though it didn't bother me as much since she dismissed it and didn't go on and on about it like other characters I shall not name.
Oh, and Suit 2.0 does nothing for me. Not that I prefer the Neo rip off either, so ::shrugs:: I'm being difficult, I suppose.
Not difficult at all. Though I was ok with the trench coat the red jacket not so much. My sister has been watching SV with me this season and said I literally did *facepalm*
//She has a scrappy quality about her that I really appreciate. SV's not perfect, but I love that it doesn't hesitate when it comes to portraying female characters having some backbone
( ... )
OK, we shared some of the brain today, but not all. We are totally on the same page with the Lois/Carter stuff though. And Cat too. I agree that she brought some levity to the episode, but by giving her the backstory that they did, she certainly wasn't just comic relief. She was used in a number of interesting ways, actually.
I didn't like the scene at the apartment with Oliver as much as you did though. I didn't exactly know why Oliver zipped into his GA outfit in the first place (and in 2 seconds). Why not just confront her as Oliver, Chloe's boyfriend?
But I admit, my tolerance for Oliver is so low, its quite possible that we've gotten to a place where just about everything involving him bugs me on some level.
All in all, a solid 2nd ep. Some interesting themes and storyline set ups and a very strong character introduction.
I think that really sums up the episode in one sentence. :)

The ridiculously fast changing into the GA outfit was, well, ridiculous, heh. But that aside, I suppose I just appreciated the scene for its pure enjoyment factor. I found it genuinely fun and thought the actors played it just right.
And I'm with you on Oliver - like I was just commenting in jwm' lj, I was surprised in fact, at how much I liked the scene too, considering how Oliver continues to moreorless work my last nerve.
After the doom and gloom of the last ep, it was great to have these genuinely fun moments thrown in here. I look forward to Cat' return appearance, and I happen to think her crushing on Clark could produce some hilarious results. Yes! And it gives Tom a different dynamic to play, with Clark's patience being tested!
Where their interaction was even more effective, however, was in the characters differing stances on the 'heroes or vigilantes' debate. This was a nice thematic crossover from last season's 'Idol' and by throwing in characters like Deadshot, there was an interesting build up to a story that will undoubtedly play out during the rest of the season. I hope this arc get s a fulfilling treatment - neat to see SV dip a toe into political satire.
The thing I most appreciated about this ep was how it allowed a mixing up of dynamics and character interactions I liked that too. I like Clark and Lois together but it was a nice change of pace to have them apart for a change. Like a breath of fresh air.
Cat Grant, for me, was the real revelation. Yes! I didn't know what to expect from Cat and yet what she turned out to be was... totally unexpected, if that makes sense. And in a good way.
I was disappointed not to see any Tess and clone!Alexander scenes but I quite liked her scene with Oliver, actually I guess they have to tease the lil' Lex stuff over the course of the season. Unfortunately.
I can very much believe Clark when he says that after all that Chloe has said about treating her as part of the team, etc, we have to trust in her plan, for now.Me, I'm kind o 50-50 between Clark actually trusting in Chloe's plan vs knowing Oliver well enough the he needs to dissuade Oliver from sticking his nose into said plan and screwing it up, whatever it is. A kryptonite taser in the

A kryptonite taser in the the back comes to mind here. I kind of hope Clark decides to try to take a peek behind the curtain all on his own without Oliver's emotionality there to muck everything up.//
You have a point. And come to think of it, yeah, I do think it would be wise of Clark to just sort of look in to it, independently from Oliver.
//What?!? But he's her knight in shining leather! *snicker*//

Heh, right. It was like, '1, 2, 3 - what next.' Hilarious.

Yeah, as long as this was the first and last time we hear it, I can let it pass too.

Sometimes I feel I might be a little too nitpicky. But it's always heartening when others share a similar opinion. :-)

We haven't seen TW exercise those set of acting chops in a while, so it was a nice change of pace.

I'm cautiously optimistic - about the right attitude to take when it comes to SV, eh? Heh.
