Trevor hovered over his laboratory desk, scribbling a note to himself as he added another vial of liquid to his petri dish. He was thankful that Freya had left him alone for the afternoon, so he could try to get some work done. She was certainly a good assistant, but that was the limit to what he needed - an assistant, not someone to take care of him, as she often tried to do.
Of course, one of the down sides to sending her away was that she wasn't there to remind him to eat lunch. The sound and feeling of his stomach growling broke him out of his reverie, and he glanced at his watch, sighing as he realized it was far later in the afternoon than he'd thought.
After Trevor cleaned up, he pressed the main button on his transporter belt, fully expecting the room to shift back to his library like it was supposed to. Instead, the belt did nothing more than make a faint whirring noise. In retrospect, he probably shouldn't have pressed the button a second time, because that's when the belt let off a higher pitched noise, and shocked Trevor in the chest.
When he woke up, Trevor's first realization was that he was on his back. His second was that he was no longer in his laboratory. Or in the library. Or, judging from the sky above him, inside at all.
He sat up, but the rush of blood made his vision blurry, so he closed his eyes and leaned back against the outside wall of the nearest building. Peeking just a little, he realized he was in an alleyway. This? Was not good. But frankly, he was a little too dizzy to think about moving anywhere else for the moment.
[Yes, Trevor is now officially in town. He's...not open for interaction right now. But he will be later. *g*]
