I'm FINE

R.I.P. Franklin Delano Kicinski
1998-2008

Thursday night, I was in my first car accident. Like the title says, I am fine. I was driving up ferry hill, came around a corner and decided to speed up so the woman in the other lane could get into mine, Franklin started to slide, and I jerked the wheel to the other side so I would avoid the woman in the other lane. Did a 180 and ended up in the ditch. The airbag didn't even go off. It could have been A LOT worse--I'm terribly lucky.

From the onset, the only damage I saw to Franklin was a small crack in the windshield, two popped tires, a broken side mirror and a few various dents. Unfortunately, after an inspection the next day, it was discovered the radiator cover underneath was cracked. Which my insurance pointed out would cost more than to just give me money to replace Franklin. So, that's what I'm getting.

My parents are on the East Coast until Wednesday, so I'm not making any decisions until then. Part of me really wants to pony up the extra money to fix him and get him "un-totaled." But I wouldn't be able to sell Franklin later on...and urf. I just don't know. Will has been trying to cheer me up all weekend with pictures of cars I could get as a replacement. I like them, but Franklin was just brilliant. My first car love. And I'm in mourning.

To conclude, I'm okay. Just a little heart-broken.
