Rinkle: The Central Park Edition

WARNING: These photos may contain snakes. Proceed with CAUTION!

And we have come to the end of the Travels with
rinkle Series. It is sad, for sure, but there are photos and memories.

First we picked up Rinkle at her hotel and headed to Central Park Zoo. Rinkle tried to kill herself running around downtown Manhattan to get pics of the Shuttle Shell on its barge headed to the Intrepid. Maybe, one day, we shall see the photographic evidence that she succeeded. We got to the zoo, chilled a bit in the gift shop. Pretty necklace of dragonfly was crazy expensive so it stayed there, but owl purse and stuffed squirrel joined Rinkle. Rinkle and The Ed Coord at CPZoo (aka Twin's friend) talked for a bit (although way longer than Ed Coord should have) so Rinkle got some work stuff done. Twin called it "fostering international relations" and therefore work time too. Then we walked to zoo.... and after it closed we walked the park for about an hour.

So! The Zoo and the Park!

Weird one is a Ugly Eider, slightly out of focus closer is long-tailed duck (formerly known as old squaw)

Penguins! (Do my hips look wide, Alfred??)

Penguin under water! DUDE. Could NOT get decent pics ... or figure out my camera to get them anyway!

PUFFIN!

Rosebud! Yes, I had fun with flowers! So did Rinkle.

I have no idea what these tropical birds are.

I loved the tail on this, but long lens and indoors = hard to get in focus!

SNAKE!!! :-) Loved the pose of this guy.

PINK Peacock!

Some words of wisdom:

TURTLES!

Crazy amounts of turtles! Painted and red-eared sliders

And now we leave the zoo for the park.
