I am just awful

at updating this thing.

But! Since I have an abundance of time (read: an irrational hatred of doing homework in a timely manner) I figured I might try to fix that:

1. Back at school for my last semester of my college career. Everyone around me is deeply saddened by this, saying they'll miss the days of being care-free and jobless, going to school ( Read more... )

Well, when I leave this fall, it's going to be for fun and travel. I'm still trying to figure out where I want to stay, but in Seoul for sure. I'm planning on going back in early 2011 to teach and then I want to still be in Seoul probably, but I wouldn't mind being in a more suburban, less city-like community. Idk, a big reason for me going in the fall is to scope out the country and figure out where I wouldn't mind living for a long period of time or if I would even be able to live there at all! I've found companies recruiting teachers for Seoul and for more rural areas, but I don't think I would make it in a country-type town. We'll see.

I like living at home. It's not that I didn't envy my friends who did live on campus and got to go to all the parties and have adventures, but I'm pretty close with my family and I like coming home to my own room and my own space. The bummer is my 45-min commute to school everyday, but I've commuted for like 5 years so I'm pretty used to it by now. I'd say the only thing I regret about living at home is the potential social life I could have had. I just had to make friends at work instead of in the dorms. :)

I think that sounds like an amazing plan. I wish I could afford to go before commiting to a year contract but unfortunately I don't have the time or money...kind of a huge leap of faith but I'm hoping it pays off. I think that rural areas would be hard because you'd be one of the only foreigners there...I mean, you go abroad to meet new people and see new things but at the same time if the language barrier is an issue it might be nice to know people who are in the same boat as you.

I'm close with my family as well so I really envy you for being able to spend so much time with them. The commute sounds brutal but it sounds like you take it in stride :D What sort of job do you have? I work part-time at my university's law school and they only have one student worker in office at a time so I haven't been able to meet many people :/

Right now I'm just working in retail. I go to school 4 days a week all day, so there are no "job job"s out there that work for my scheduling. It's just something to pay the bills and nothing I'm that serious about. :-P
