Summary: As i've already mentioned i have decided to take this story into the realms of fiction, as such you can all stop thinking that my life is so interesting lol. But seriously thanks so much if you're still following this, and if you haven't read any of it before then you definitely should because readers and comments make me happy :)

After the two girls had gone their separate ways in the park, Emily walked slowly through the streets as the wind picked up until she was practically walking through a fucking gale. It was starting to get dark when she reached the Campbell house, and she couldn’t help but smile when she saw Gina silhouetted in one of the windows, waving at her cheerful as ever.

Once inside she greeted Gina warmly before dashing up the stairs to Naomi’s room. She pushed open the door slowly, leaning on the doorframe seductively.

“Hey,” her voice was huskier than ever because of all the bloody smoke she’d inhaled throughout the day and Naomi felt her breath catch in her throat at the sound of it - throaty and breathy and girly and everything that the blonde loved about Emily.

“Hi there,” Naomi replied with a small smile, walking over and kissing Emily gently, “good day?”

“Not exactly,” Emily whispered against her girlfriend’s lips, trying desperately not to cry again, “but I don’t want to talk about it right now. Right now I just want to -”

She was cut off as the blonde brushed her tongue past the other girl’s lips and Emily granted her entrance with a moan. As the kiss grew more passionate, Naomi took a step back, pulling the redhead with her so she could close the door, before pressing her back up against it - hard.

“Is this what you had in mind?” She said with a smirk before Emily crashed their lips back together. She wanted to ask the redhead what was wrong, to stop this before it got to the point that that they were just fucking so that Emily could forget something. But as it turned out, she just wasn’t that strong-willed and by the time she’d even considered stopping it she was far too turned on.

Emily’s kisses became desperate as they stumbled over to the bed, the backs of Naomi’s knees hitting it hard so that they fell back onto it a little harder than intended. Within an instant Emily was straddling her and pulling off her own top before turning her attention to Naomi’s. This was all far too urgent considering they had only done this a few hours before.

Naomi tried her hardest to piece together coherent thoughts under the barrage of Emily’s distracting kisses, but it was becoming increasingly harder. If she didn’t stop this now and talk to Emily, then she didn’t know if they’d talk at all - with Emily you really had to strike while the iron was hot or she would just withdraw right inside herself.

“Emily, wait...” She gasped against the redhead’s lips as she felt a hand slip beneath the waistband of her jeans. But Emily just carried on kissing her with even more determination, until she had to physically restrain her, something she wouldn’t have imagined herself doing in a million years. “Ems, stop.”

Emily pulled back, looking at her with something between anger and desperation. It almost broke Naomi’s heart to upset Emily in any way but this was necessary.

“What?”

“Can we just talk for a minute?” Naomi pleaded.

“No, I don’t want to talk. I thought I made that pretty clear.” Emily was really starting to get angry now, why wouldn’t Naomi just let her not talk?

“I know you don’t want to talk, but I want to know what’s going on with you. You can’t just shag it away you know, it’ll still be there when we’re done.” At her words Emily pushed herself off the bed and just stood staring at the blonde that was now propped up on her elbows.

“What the fuck? What are you now, a fucking shrink? Jesus Christ Nai, if I wanted to talk to someone I would have, and it probably wouldn’t have been you.” Emily hadn’t meant to say it, hadn’t even realised she’d thought it, but the words were out of her mouth before she could stop them and she knew that there was a hell of a lot of truth in them.

“What...” Naomi sounded really bloody hurt.

“You heard me. When Katie walked in on us you buggered off to your sodding boyfriend and left me to deal with my family. Clearly we don’t talk to each other about real stuff, do we?” She could feel the words rushing out of her, angry but at the same time therapeutic.

“That’s utter shit Ems. We talk about stuff all the time.” Even as she said it, she was having trouble remembering one serious conversation they’d had since they’d started just being together. “And how fucking dare you throw all the stuff with Gary back in my face.” She was on her feet now and as she took a step towards Emily she realised they were having their first fight. Trouble was, it felt really big, like Emily had been storing this up for a while and it scared her. It kind of felt like an end.

“Right, of course we do. When we’re done fucking we have long conversations about what’s going on in our lives.” Emily’s voice dripped with sarcasm. “Oh no wait, we fucking don’t! I mean seriously, do you have any idea what’s been going on with me and Katie, had you even noticed that I’ve hardly gone home for days because I don’t know how to be in that house and keep living the lie that they all expect me to live.” Emily would have cried but she was too fucking angry.

“Don’t give me that. If you would bloody well trust me enough to tell me anything then I would fucking well know, wouldn’t I. Why don’t you just grow the fuck up and realise you’re in an adult relationship, and that you can’t spend the whole fucking time waiting for me to fuck up.”

“Me, trust you?! How about you start fucking trusting me to tell you stuff when I’m ready, and start acting like a real girlfriend and notice stuff without me having to bloody well tell you. I mean, fuck, you’re so fucking selfish.”

“I’m selfish? I’m selfish?” Naomi spat out with a bitter laugh, “This coming from the girl that disappeared for a whole night last week and still hasn’t thought it important enough to tell me where she was!”

That was when Emily just snapped, she didn’t even really know why, but before she knew it her hand had connected with the taller girls face and all she could focus on was the sting of skin on skin and the sound that rang through the air, seeming to last forever. Naomi’s face was flung to the side and that was where it stayed, she was too shocked to move, to meet Emily's eye. She just raised her hand to her cheek and out of the corner of her eye saw the redhead do the same.

“Nai... I...” was all Emily managed before she broke down completely, sobbing for what felt like the millionth time that day. She fell to her knees, wrapping her arms around the other girl’s legs and feeling her tears undo Effy’s earlier handiwork.

“We’re not ok, are we Em?” Naomi said quietly, her hand still pressed to her cheek.

Emily simply shook her head against Naomi’s legs. How could everything have unravelled in one day? How had she lost her sister and now, she was pretty certain, her girlfriend in just a few short hours? Naomi took her hand and pulled her up so that they were looking into each other’s eyes, just looking into Emily’s deep brown irises she felt herself fall apart. This morning she’d thought it was all fine, but now... now it was on the brink of collapse and she didn’t know how to fix it. She felt a tear trickle down her face, and a moment later Emily's hand was on her cheek, wiping it away. She winced as Emily’s cold fingers brushed past the angry red patch on her face, and before she knew it Emily’s lips were on hers and it was so different to before.

This time the kiss was hard and fast, but there was no passion there like before. It was all apologies and promises and hurt and fear. It was Emily trying to undo the last few minutes the only way she knew how. It was Naomi giving in because she wanted, needed, this to work. It was salt as they began to taste tears on each other’s lips. It was the two of them falling back onto the bed again, their hands in each other’s knickers working furiously until they came silently, moments apart. It was the way Emily bit her shoulder as she came, biting until a mark formed, until she almost broke the skin. It was the culmination of a hundred unspoken arguments over the last week, each one pushed away so as to not ruin what should have been wonderful. It was the end, Naomi thought, it hurts so much it must be the end.

Later, when Emily had left, Naomi just lay in the dark listening to passing cars and her mum downstairs ranting about one thing or another. She bit her lip holding back the tears, crying wouldn’t help now, not with Emily gone. She didn’t know how to fix this, didn’t even know why it had all gone wrong. They’d wanted so much to be together, surely that should have been enough. Surely love and want and need was enough.

She picked up her phone and flicked it open, the light from the display illuminating her face in the darkness, and scrolled through the list of names until she found the one she needed.

I need you. Please come back. N x

She pressed send with a tear running down her swollen cheek; maybe it wasn’t too late to make this all ok again. Maybe she could turn back everything she’d done wrong.
