Sleeping Habits and Good DayCare

Izzy used to sleep through the night every once in awhile, sometimes a few days at a time. Now, he hasn't slept through the night in over a month. He has started a more regular nap pattern (~9am and ~12pm and ~3-4pm). We are still doing a nighttime ritual starting at ~6pm; cereal, bath, book, milk, and bed. I have generally found that if I give Mike a scotch and then just let him whine himself to sleep works. "I'm not tired!" Bah, then I have to deal with him all grumpy all the next day.

Ohh...umm. nevermind.

You can drug Izzy and put him to sleep.

Or drug yourselves so you find it less hard to let him cry it out :)

Personally, I think the later is healthier but I'm not a parent.

Truly wish I had some good advice to offer on the sleeping. I was very fortunate, I know, because I only remember the occasional night when she would not go down to sleep, once we got her on her schedule. But, it has been 31 years so maybe memory washed away the more stressful times.

The most comforting thought I have ever had about my child came when she was about eight. I was praying one night and crying and praying,
so worried about being able to provide materially and every other way for her because I was a single mom. The thought just settled deeply into my mind that God loved that little girl far, far more than I ever had or would and that He would help me take good care of her. And He has been faithful to do that. So, the best thing I can say is that I am praying for Izzy and for you (and Gonzo!), that God will give you the same peace He gave me.

Love,
Freda
