What a waste? or What I did with myself this morning...

As opposed to what I do to myself in the mornings....
I have been going through the length process of filtering through years worth of subscriptions to GQ & Esquire (for now) looking for material for me to collage with, and tearing out material not appropriate for middle school art students.
A brief aside: I realize that censorship is a bit of an issue. I am not going to have images of bare female nipples for them to work with. I would be out of a job as soon as parents or the administration got wind of something like that.
Continuing: I now have a crate that is overflowing with magazine, and a neat stack near it measuring a respectable 11.5 inches. I take a small amount of pride in this as I distance myself from the people featured on A&E's Hoarders. I realized early on in pursuit of my art education career, I would need source material which is why I have this much pulp sitting around my closet. In clearing out and actually having a classroom where to deposit all these magazines, I have more space to organize and prioritize my attire and get the shoes off the floor and into the shoe rack which was previously buried. I still have a colossal 33 inch stack of one of my favorite print pulp media, Interview Magazine. It has such rich images printed on such crap paper, but that is part of the appeal for me. However after everything I finished sorting today, my neck is aching from being hunched over flipping through so many issues of consumerist delight, I think Interview Magazine can wait another day.
