That was alright. Well, either it was alright or I'm too tired to fully appreciate shiny goodness. Summer sure glammed up for this event! And Alan couldn't bother to shave. That's our crew. Interesting Inara theory. Maybe we'll get a second movie to learn about that. Or another set of comic books, at least. Some new content would be most welcome.

I had hoped to spend this new-show-free week clearing off the rest of the classic films from the DVR. Power outages and a Firefly marathon (I am not proud, but I am happy) prevented a full DVR cleaning, but I did knock out 3 films this week. How in the heck did I completely fail to notice that on Firefly, the young Simon was played by Zac Efron? I remember thinking the young Simon & River were perfectly cast, but apparently I never looked to see who the young actors were.

It's not done yet, probably 2/3rds done right now, but I have a few thoughts. Firstly, I'm seeing a lot of Firefly here. Clearly Joss Whedon saw this movie more than a few times. Speaking of people who've clearly seen it, Farscape's Chiana seems clearly based on Pris. Harrison Ford is more appealing to me here than in pretty much anything else I've ( Read more... )
