Particularly in the 'I don't feel like I accomplished much' department.
I woke up Friday morning in agonizing pain. Something went wrong between my shoulder blade and my neck, and all day I had knives shooting up and down my neck, back and arm. Moving was pretty much out of the question, as was eating. Friday night was another disappointing Caps game and the disastrous non-airing of 'Dollhouse'. Yay.
Saturday - shoulder was still very painful and it kept me up much of the night, since everytime I moved it hurt. I walked up to the flea market near the house, but there was nothing even vaguely interesting there. Then I took Mom shopping, which included me and the painful shoulder schlepping 25 lb bags of dog food, and then I took her out for Mother's Day dinner at Outback Steakhouse. She had lamb chops and was very, very happy. Then much television - the good parts being the rest of Dollhouse, Bill Maher and Ashes to Ashes, the bad being the Caps losing, again, this time despite playing well. Arrrgghhh!
Another painful night of not sleeping much, some shopping for office items and then off to the Keys game Sunday. Fortunately for me, there was a day spa offering free chair massages at the game. The masseuse was distressed by my shoulder, which he said was knots and lumps and other not-good things. He worked on me twice, which is probably what enabled me to drive home. It was windy at the game, producing a LOT of home runs, most of them wind-blown but one of Billy Rowell's homers should have had a stewardess on it. 8 lead changes before the game finally ended with the Keys up 15-9. Drove home and gave CJ a bath. She is shedding like crazy. Told Mom CJ had a vet's appointment at 8:30. She remembered this exactly 10 seconds before she asked again.
One more night of not sleeping well and then getting up early to take CJ to the vet. She received a clean bill of health, despite trying to take a chunk out of the vet. Mom was upset when CJ and I reappeared at the house, even though I told her less than an hour earlier that CJ was going to the vet and then I would bring her home. Yep, she forgot that fast. Into work with me, where I found out that one of the attorneys has been, uh, disassociated. All the boss will say is she's not with the firm, but they changed the locks and the computer passwords and ordered us not to let her into the office without his permission. Yikes. I don't mind, she drove me bonkers, but it must have been quite a weekend at the office!
