...Ate 50 eggs and didn't even puke...
Last night Surly and i settled in to watch Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere miniseries. (Yes, we've both read the book.) We'd ordered it from Netflix, and both discs came at the same time.
Or so we thought.
We blew through the first disc, but when we went to open the second one, Surly discovered that it was disc 3 of Season 3 Sandbaggers--the one i'd cancelled in our queue days before we sent back our last Netflix discs, because we borrowed it from the good folks at Castle N. So that was a little frustrating.
So instead, we popped in True Romance at something like 11:30 and watched it, because i'd never seen it before. I was working on something last night and Surly's a night owl, so after that--somewhere near 1 or 2am--we put on Cool Hand Luke because again, i'd never seen it, either.
(And, i admit, i gave up on my project and fell asleep after he runs away again, so i haven't seen all of it yet.)
Regardless, this whole post is to tell you that there's a Reverend Horton Heat song called "Spend a Night in the Box" which is a brilliant song that uses Cool Hand Luke as a metaphor for a relationship...or something. But there's a line in it that goes "Stayed up all night and watched Cool Hand Luke/Ate fifty eggs and didn't even puke" (which i did see before falling asleep--god, that scene was brutal). And Surly and i? Yeah. Stayed up all night and watched Cool Hand Luke.
And yes, i had the song in my head the whole damn time.
