type-tappety-type

That's all I've been doing for the last few days - typing (well, also, making things up).  It's got to the point where I'm writing complete baloney, but at least I've decided where the shocking denouement will be.
astrothsknot, remember the Edinburgh sketch show we went to, in a dark clammy cellar?  Imagine that room all dark and deserted... our narrator, alone (unwisely) and then... well, I won't spoil the plot except to say that the book I'm writing is set partly during the Edinburgh Festival, and the scene-setting is great fun.  It's just the characterisation and plotting that stink to high heaven.

Ah well, House was back on British TV last night and I enjoyed the first episode of the third series much more than I did when I watched it on line.  Lots of good reviews in the newspapers, as well, and a version of the photo I'm using for this post is on the front cover of next week's Radio Times (UK equivalent of TV Guide - somewhat archaic name, I know).  So that's lovely to look at.

And talking of lovely to look at, I must mention how much I'm enjoying Friday Night Lights, tucked away on ITV4, when I remember to watch it.  I adored the film, and I think the TV series has managed to capture the same atmosphere.  Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton play one of the best married couples on TV (along with the couple on Medium), the sports stuff is just about at my level of understanding, and I love all the shots of dusty roads and fields.  Oh, and who am I kidding, I love it when Tim Riggins gets his shirt off.

What a long post today, all about complete trivia.  Must be that my usual forum is off-line!  One more thing: a hometown gig on Sunday.  My cousin and a whole load of my workmates are coming.  Better be funny, then, hadn't I?
