I was supposed to get off work in time to have a late lunch with him before he went out to poker. The carpet installers were sloooow and I didn't get off until 5:00. I had called and left a message when I realized I wouldn't be home in time to see him.
I came home to find one of my favorite songs on repeat on his computer to welcome me. The perfect song for how I feel, empathizing with the weariness of a long day and letting me know that he was with me even when he wasn't around. So peacefull, so sweet.
I left it on. I fell asleep on the couch with my kitty on my lap and In the Arms of an Angel by Sarah McLachlan floating around me.
Also...he put away the dishes. Less time on my feet is good. I can barely stand, and a sink full of dishes with nowhere to go was more than I could deal with.
...it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction, oh beautiful release
Memories seep from my veins
They may be empty and weightless, and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight
...You're in the arms of an Angel
may you find some comfort here
life and love,
jeremy,
happy
