I found this statement to be very illuminating...
"At some point, we're going to have to accept that there is a difference between real security and Potemkin security (or Security Theater as Bruce Schneier likes to call it), and a difference between realistic threats and uninteresting threats. I'm happy that the police caught these folks even if their plot seems very sketchy, but could we please have some sense of proportion?"
Hopefully he and everyone else in the country will try to remember this and the fact that there are over 5000 potential threats daily (just to the FBI and government) to be gone through and investigated in this country, by individuals working in the homeland security, the CIA, the FBI, Law Enforcement and elsewhere. Someone has to decide which are valid and which are not. People tend to forget that and slam the president, politicians and blah blah for not stopping something from happening. I love how individuals use selective memory when something happens and they forget what goes on in reality everyday. No one can stop everything.
