Whinnyhi.
Whelp, I bought RT a muzzle. Inexpensive, made-in-China, black nylon type fits nice and looks kinda cool since it goes over his black muzzle rather smartly and simply strapsnaps around the back of his head. Of course he does the usual pawpaw at it thing but I have been only putting it on for a minute and praising the heck out of him when I take it off with tons of GOOD BOYs.
Now I can safely take him to the Crossroads Veterinary Clinic in Three Rivers and get his Rabies shot and dog license tag. Of course they are going to tell me he is thin and needs more food but I feel he is about right for a young and high-energy GSD (eighty pounds). Ok, maybe a few more pounds. They are also going to nag me to get him a Parvovirus and DHL (Distemper, Hepatatitis/Leptosporosis(sp)) shots but no, I still feel that is too many shots all at once. WHEN I get him out into public more this Spring and around other dogs at, hopefully, a dog training class, then I possibly will.
He is goofy. He hates smooth floors (many dogs do) and so leaps from the doorway of my woodfloored bedroom from the carpeted hallway to my bed and back the same way in one big leap.
He is also quite the retriever, as busy as any Lab. Bought him a new plush toy and he ignores it over the ones I originally got him as a puppy. But those are about worn out; the rabbit's ears are chewed off, the plush footbal is ragged and torn, but they are his faves. Sigh. Grin.
