Part 4.5 of the CAA fanfic - I'm going to go get a life now.

Part 4, second half.

Author's notes: Okay, so I lied. I got the second part done today, so I may as well post it (I was half done with it when I posted the first half). I hope it doesn't seem too rushed, but I had to get all my ideas down before they flew away. :\  But, if this does seem rushed, please let me know.

Also, I don't know how high you have to be from the ground in order to sky dive and I don't know if anyone can sky dive from a chopper, but we're going to pretend they can for the sake of the story.

The Next Morning:

Lucky awoke to the sound of a phone ringing. She bolted upright on Ark's couch (where she assumed she had fallen asleep). She looked around the cabin and noticed Ark was still typing away on the Hunter 9001. The phone rang again.
"Have you been up all night?" Lucky asked, rubbing her eyes awake.
"Oh, you're up?" Ark turned from the computer to Lucky and picked up the still ringing cellphone, "It's for you." he tossed it to Lucky.
Lucky opened up the phone and answered "Hello?"
"LUCKY! IS THAT YOU?" came the rather loud and squealing response.
"Uh...yes, it is." Lucky blinked in suprise, she was really awake now.
"Thank goodness! He hasn't done anything to you, has he? I'll kill him if he even came 100 feet near you. Tell Ark that I mean it, Lucky!" the response was a little more calm, but not by much. Lucky swore that she has heard that voice before...
"Mina?" Lucky asked.
"Of course! Who else would be worried sick for your well being?" Mina replied.
"Thanks Mina." Lucky smiled into the phone, she hadn't talked to Mina in the longest time, so she wasn't too surprised at Mina's worry over her, "Where are you right now?"
"On the coast of Hawaii, with Anony. Ark woke us up in the middle of the night to go on some wild goose chase near the Pacific Ocean. I didn't want to go, but Anony said it would be an adventure. Yeah, I'd rather have sleep during my adventures, thank you very much. Apparently, he thinks The Grammar Ranger is in the ocean somewhere. Anony has been using the scanner, but so far, no luck. Oh wait, she wants to talk to you."
"Lucky?" Anony's voice was recognizable to Lucky.
"Hi Anony, how are you?" Lucky sweetly replied.
"Oh, not so bad. Though I'd rather be in Hawaii for vacation instead of work, but the weather here is nice."
"I'm glad."
"Hey, sorry to interrupt the happy reunion, you two, but ask Anony if she's found anything yet?" Ark asked, while still typing away on the computer.
"Ark wants to know if you've found anything yet?" Lucky asked into the phone.
"Umm, nothing concret," Anony replied, "But Mina's turning the scanner up to full power as we speak, so we should be able to see if anything is hidden under the ocean floor. We'll send the reports and cordinates to Ark if we find something. Oh, Mina wants to talk to you again."
"Lucky," Mina's voice came back on to the phone, "I want you to know that-"

BOOM!

A very large crashing sound came from the phone that almost knocked Lucky down.
"Mina! Mina! Are you allright?" Lucky yelled into the phone.
"Yeah, we're both fine," Mina answered back, "We found something, and I don't think it likes scanners. Sending its cordinates and image to Ark now."
"Ah ha! Got it!" Ark grinned as the location came up on the computer screen and so did the image. The object found by the scanner looked like a very large submarine with the words SSLuneth written on the side. "That doesn't look suspicious at all." Ark laughed sarcastically. "Now, let's see if we can hack into this thing and have some fun." he continued to type a few more things into the computer. "Oh and Lucky, call Jamie for me, I promised him a chopper."

Rushia wasn't necessarily afraid of heights, but sky diving wasn't really on her list of things to do before she died. Nevertheless, here she was, in a chopper, with Jamie, ready to skydive onto a submarine in the middle of the Pacific Ocean to save the Grammar Ranger. The events leading up to this had all gone by so fast, but she tried to remember.
First of all, Jamie called Steve, who was also known as Ark, asking for a chopper and any more information that he may have about Corrie's whereabouts. Steve had said that Corrie was registered to be in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and he had recently sent two agents, Mina and Anony, to investigate in Hawaii. And that was they end of it at that time, so Jamie and Rushia had checked into two hotel rooms to get a bit of sleep. But, then, the next morning, Jamie had come knocking on her hotel door, saying something about a chopper and skydiving. The rest was all a blur until now. Now, Rushia was very alert. This could be because she was rather high up, in a helicopter, almost ready to jump out into the ocean. Yes, that could be it. Jamie was right next to her, kneeling down, talking on his cellphone to Ark.
"Any luck getting the sub to the surface?" Jamie yelled into his phone over the sound of the helicopter's engines.
"Almost. Be patient, these things take time." Ark answered.
"Okay, okay, fine. But we're waiting. And I've always wanted to sky dive." Jamie answered back, with a hint of excitement in his voice.
"And....Got it!" Ark replied, "Can you see it? It should be surfacing soon."
"I don't see..." Jamie looked down at the surface of the ocean.
"There it is!" Rushia pointed to a little mast sticking out of the ocean and it was rising fast.
"Awesome!" Jamie hung up his cellphone and turned to the pilot of the chopper, "Over there!" he pointed to the now almost surfaced submarine.
The pilot steer over to the submarine until he was directly above the it; at about 1,000 feet.
"Okay, here goes nothing." Jamie opened the door to the chopper, grabbed Rushia's hand and they both leapt out.

A good night's sleep always makes things better. Fish had checked out of his hotel and was heading back towards the airport, plotting his next move since his path to California had been blocked. As he strolled along the sidewalk, he passed that semi-familiar side street again, but thinking not much of it, he continued on, only to catch a shadow moving towards him in the corner of his eye. Had someone been following him? Fish paused in his steps and stroked his still huge, fake mustache. It was quiet this morning; Fish listened carefully for any movement, he heard nothing then--he spun around into a kick, barely missing a dark figure behind him. Fish quickly regained his balance and got set for another attack when he heard a *click* and something metal pressed against the back of his head.
"Don't move." a voice behind Fish growled.

Today was a brilliant day, Nate decided, as he munched on his pasta bread bowl that one of the nurses had brought him. How could all this happiness be in one bowl, Nate hardly knew. He smiled, thinking about it and lounged back in his hospital bed.
"What are you doing?"
Nate looked up in surprise at a little boy wearing a hospital gown who was looking at him (and who had spoken to him) from the doorway of his hospital room.
"Oh, I'm just eating." Nate replied, light heartedly.
"No, not that. What are you doing on your face?" the little boy asked.
Nate just now noticed that the little boy had a very serious and almost expressionless face. A cold chill ran down Nate's spine as he answered, "I'm just....smiling."
"Smiling? You think this world is funny?"
"Well I-"
"Who's smiling?" another voice asked, as an older person came into Nate's hospital room as well.
"Smiling is bad for you." Another person came in, both of these new people had the same expressionless look on their faces as the little boy did.
"We must get rid of the smiling." the little boy said as he moved closer to Nate.
"Whoa whoa whoa, hang on." Nate propped himself up a bit more in his bed, noticing that more zombie like people (as he had now dubbed all these emotionless freaks) came into his room.
They were all chanting and come nearer towards Nate, "Must kill the smiling. Must kill the smiling."
"Oh, this is not good at all." Nate noted with panic in his voice.
