so if it gets approved my dissertation will be on german queer cinema & deborah phd at work has given me a lot of advice and i have a direction at least. i'm in the library for the first time this summer checking what movies we have in the library that i really need to watch. we don't really have that many obscure german films about gays, quite a lot of csi, though. i didn't even think about my final year until today as i have been caught up in a whirlwind! i got married to david, it was really 'wacky' of us but whatever, it was fun & i'll be so much better off financially next year. i can visit people more! right now though i am having to work around 50 hours/week at the picturehouse, cramming in as many extra shifts at possible as i can, even bar shifts which means working in a bar that is exactly 100 F in the direct sunlight parts by the windows. i am making my own fun, though by telling nice boys they are the 1000th customer and giving them free tickets and popcorn etc. they don't seem bothered though, maybe i should give them ice cream? oh, i just got back from paris but i'll post photos tomorrow since i will finally have the internet at home so come on over and steal the wifi of 'the house of magnolia'.
