A dear friend of mine has asked me to be a bridesmaid which I'm really happy about. We live in different cities and we don't see a lot of each other so we've been talking dresses and stuff by email.
Anyway, she just sent me a picture of her in the second hand wedding dress she's brought. She's asked me for my opinion and she 'wants me to be honest' but she 'really hopes I like it'.
Small problem...I think it's hideous.
It's red. And shiny. And I showed it to my boyf who visibly flinched and made a face like I'd just showed him a picture of someone giving birth. It seriously looks like a costume from a pirate movie.
SO....what do I do? What would a real friend do? I'd love it if you could weigh in on this, I honestly have no idea.
A few more facts...I work in fashion so she's asked for my 'professional' opinion....she travelled to another city to look at this dress and has already brought it and is getting it altered (I don't know if it was expensive)...She's a beautiful beautiful girl and would look gorgeous in white, but the red doesn't suit her skin tone...we've been friends for years but haven't been particularly close for the last few years tho we always have a bond.
Sorry, I know I'm making a big deal about this but I'm really worried because sometimes my directness and strong opinions have got me in trouble before.
