Hi o/
The members talk about the rules they would have if they had a roommate and what kind of life they would want and things like that. The spiel at the start of the article says to fantasise about the love you'd share if you lived together... so why not lol
Jesse’s Rules of Living Together:
- Make food
- Hug me
- Do the washing
- Clean my ears
- Have a musical lifestyle
- I want my own room
- Massage each other
- Watch movies together
- I want to play videogames together
- Wake me up in the morning!
Leave the ear cleaning to me <3
I think Japanese food would be good for breakfast. I also want you to hug me, and do the washing. Since in return I’ll clean your ears. I’ve done it for my sister a lot so I’m good at it. But recently, my mum did it for me and it felt good, so I think I want you to do it for me occasionally too. Massages are good too. Also, I don’t like silence, so I always want to play music. I also want to do things like watch movies and play video games, and do fun things together. Also… I have a desire to be woken up in the mornings, thank you <3
Hokuto’s Rules of Living Together:
- Don’t enter my room without my permission
- Don’t invite your friends over randomly
- Don’t have the TV volume too loud
- Clean the bath properly
- When eating meals always say it’s delicious
- Celebrate things like birthdays properly
- Say “itadakimasu” together and greet each other properly
- Have movie channels on the TV
- I want to flambe, so we need to have a gas stove (T/N: I had to Google this for what it meant... Flambe is when you add alcohol to a hot frying pan to make a burst of flames)
- Sleep together occasionally
I’m aiming to be a flambe boy
Out of all these rules, I think the most important one is the flambe (lol). I want to yell “Let’s do it!” and put the fire in the frypan, I want to laugh together with every single thing we do. For cleaning the bathroom I want to have the bath clean up until the edge, and I want us to be hospitable to each other, so we will celebrate things like birthdays properly! We would also say things like “good morning” to each other every day, I want us to have a relationship where we still can say things that people usually stop saying once they get used to a relationship. But we will only sleep together occasionally (lol).
Taiga’s Rules of Living Together:
- Someone who’s good at cooking
- I want them to let me fawn on them like a hug pillow
- I want them to throw away rubbish
- Have a pretty way of eating
- Likes the same TV shows as me
- I want them to occasionally dry my hair
- Don’t invite friends over randomly
- Have our own rooms
- Don’t eat a dessert I was looking forward to
- I want to have baths together
I want them to dry my hair
I just really want to eat yummy food. My mother is good at cooking, and since sleeping with my dog at night makes me feel better, I would want them to become my hug pillow. I like my lifestyle at the moment and don’t want to change it, so I want my partner to enter it as is. But I don’t want to make them do things they don’t like, so I guess it has to be someone who likes the same things as me. That or someone who is an adult and can accept all of me as I am. I want them to dry my hair for me though… If I keep acting like this I won’t ever be able to get married (lol).
Shintaro’s Rules of Living Together:
- Separate rooms are definitely necessary
- Have a schedule who takes the rubbish out and follow it
- Both clean shared spaces equally
- Let the other person know in advance when inviting people over
- I’m going to pay close attention to things like the direction of the TV and the position of the remote control. Understand how the mind of a type A works!
- Don’t use my towel
- Have separate cups and tableware
- Have the lights in rooms not too bright
- Prepare for house parties together
- Keep the inside of the fridge clean
Dim lights calm me down <3
If you understand the small issues I have with some things, then it won’t matter about anything else. I won’t ask you to worry about it either. (T/N: Not 100% sure about these 2 sentences) I just don’t want us to share things that go in your mouth! I guess I’m obsessed with cleanliness~. Also, having dim lights in rooms calms me down, to the point where I would turn the lights off in dressing rooms. I want to have a schedule for things like taking the rubbish out. Even in SixTONES’ dressing room, we had a rotation schedule for doing things like taking out the rubbish and going in the shower, and I stuck to it properly!
Juri’s Rules of Living Together:
- Having separate rooms would be good
- Clean everyday
- Don’t make too much noise
- Don’t touch my stuff
- Must have our own chopsticks
- Don’t have many people over
- Ventilator fan in the bathroom must be a 24 hour one
- A morning person would be good
- I want to have baths together
- Be careful of the rice crackers!
I want time to myself. I also want the cleaning to be done properly. Ah! The ventilator fan in the bathroom might be noisy. ‘Cause you know, you try your best to get up in the morning even though it’s hot, and you go in the shower, then having water droplets drip on you is really gross right? Also, noise. The noise of my housemate watching TV or talking on the phone would irritate me, so please don’t make it too loud! Please eat rice crackers quietly too (lol). I want to be woken up in the mornings~. In dressing rooms I always sleep until I absolutely have to get up, and I get woken up by Hokuto’s voice.
Kouchi’s Rules of Living Together:
- Do your own things yourself. The phrase “do this for me” is banned
- Put things you use back where they were before
- Be mindful of noise
- Don’t eat the other person’s food
- Good morning, I’m home, welcome home etc. do greetings properly
- Open the windows everyday for ventilation
- Have the air conditioning on a suitable temperature
- Don’t wear the other person’s clothes without asking
- Put shoes on the shoe rack
- Let the other person know when you’re inviting someone over
Don’t take my pudding!
I think that doing your own things yourself is the foundation. Playing music is good, but I don’t like blaring music. That, and if you eat my precious pudding I left in the fridge I won’t forgive you! ‘Cause you know, I might have been looking forward to eating it all day, right? Also, I’m not good with air conditioners, so having it on a good temperature is really important. Having a clean entryway is good too. In the Kouchi family, not a single shoe is left on the floor, they’re all put on the shoe rack.
Thanks for reading! I'm still learning Japanese, so if you see any mistakes please let me know! :)
Also thank you to
