It's hard to put last night into words. I'll try my hardest, but without being there with me, you will never understand. I'm going to sound like an obsessive 10 year old girl. But here it goes...
Last night was one of the most amazing nights of my life.
We left around 3:30, sat in tons of traffic,
took 3 different trains, and walked a whole lot to get there.
Webster Hall is an experience in itself.
It's down the street from NYU in Greenwich Village and is
probably the coolest place I've ever been.
It's themed like an old theater, with marble staircases,
titans on the walls and a huge balcony.
It was dark and has a very mysterious atmosphere.
The bathrooms were even darker, but the potties glowed bright pink
and when you got out, right next to the sink there was a lady
selling every kind of candy you could ever imagine.
The first two sets took forever. First was Mars Black.
It's these two black guys who think their Run DMC.
Then next was The Faint. They were really fun to watch and made
me feel like I was either in a really weird movie, or a video game.
They played the tracks from Saddle Creek 50, which made me happy.
After they were done, they made us wait a half an hour or so.
And then finally, the lights went dark, and he came out.
I've decided that standing room only really sucks
when everyone taller than you stands up front.
I got really upset and started crying cause I couldn't see anything
so Scott helped me find a spot and held me up a little bit.
I don't remember what I was feeling the entire time he was playing
I just remember being in such awe and feeling like it was a dream.
He played everything from Digital Ash in a Digital Urn
and also played Lover I Don't Have to Love and Neely O'hara <3.
I took as many pictures as I could and when I have them I'll share.
Even though he was drunk and broke 3 microphones and rambled on about nothing,
it was an amazing show and I plan on seeing him play many many more times.
Just thinking about last night's show gives
me butterflies in my stomach cause it was so incredible.
After the show we went back to brooklyn and I ate the best taco
I've ever had in my life, and it was made by an actual mexican.
Thank you Scott for taking me to NY last night. I loved every second of it. <3
