In progress (might as well ignore this entry since it's just about gaming/E3.)

Watching the Nintendo live stream from E3.  They started off with a couple of minutes of Zelda (new title acquired: Breath of the Wild.) but now they are filling in-between time with Pokemon Sun/Moon, and I MIGHT be able to care less about Pokemon...but I'd have to try reeeeally hard.  And I'd probably still fail.

What I'm saying is, I don't care about Pokemon...so I can post here and just listen for the sound to change to go back when they return to the real deal :)

It looks the same as it did in the trailer they showed us last E3, but they've definitely already shown that this game has mechanics we haven't seen in LoZ before.  Link chops down a tree and then uses it as a bridge to get over a chasm.  He also cooks!  And I swear I saw him suck something out of the water with a gigantic magnet.  That's not a new weapon is it?  If so, WEIRD WEAPON.  (Not that I mind.)  Maybe it's just a tool like a net or fishing rod.  That seems more likely.  I don't know how you'd use a two-foot tall magnet as a weapon, unless you throw it like a boomerang, maybe...lol.

Anyway, Breath of the Wild (which we've been calling Zelda Wii U for 3 years now) does look like it will have a bit of a different gameplay feel.  Haven't seen enough to get my own feelings for it, though.  WiiU has decent graphics, but...I wonder if they've geared it more for the NX and if it will look at all different on that one.  Argh, Nintendo, you're a butt.  I bought my Wii U on purpose to be able to play Zelda 'Wii U' when it came out...and you took so long to bring it out that now I might have to buy a whole new console for it.  And right at console release, too, when it's still at a higher price.  =_______=

They're still playing Pokemon but...I have . crmps and am going to go now anyway.

EDIT: Okay, I think I have a feel for the basic starting premise.  Link in this iteration is a boy of a previous, technologically more-advanced world, who was placed in some sort of hydro-stasis coffin-capsule thing (probably because he's the Destined Hero...the bearer of the triforce of Courage, and he's going to be the hero who returns when the world needs him in every age)...and he's brought back to awareness in an overgrown world of grass and moss and ruins in a time when the world needs him again.  That's what I feel the hour of video I've watched has told me about who Link is in this game, anyway.  It's cool.  A very ordinary game plot, but for LoZ it's very weird...normally LoZ is all ancient and magicky.  And it appears that the game is focused a lot on exploration in a sort of 'live off the land' kind of way wher you have to find/scavenge and/or steal your weapons, shields, everything.  You can also forage for food...and you can mine.  The climbing in this game is great...but they're avoidin spoilers so I can't tell ANYTHING about the plot.
