Canning, vertical gardening, cantaloupe jam and, um...bike tubes. I guess.

Well, it's basically September.  Which, here, means it's fall.  The leaves haven't turned but the cooler weather set in about a week ago (immediately after this summer's only...quite half-assed...heat wave).  It's been a super interesting summer.  We've had both sun and rain, pretty nearly every single day of the summer.  No week of rain solid, nor any week of sun solid...regulary interspersed for about three months.  Very odd.  Rather nice, though.  It means that not one single day was a total write off.  I'm not happy about the end of summer, since I never am.  Autumn is the most beautiful season but winter is the worst, so...autumn is just sad, filled with anticipation of loss.  Bleah.  But yeah, gorgeous.  Even before the colour turns, September and October weather is just spiffy. Let's just enjoy it, I guess.

Key to enjoying it...I need a new bike tire again.  Tube, I mean.  It blew.  Gotta get it replaced tomorrow.

Ordered a few new books.  Got 2 cool gardening books coming (I love gardening books in the non-gardening season so I should save them for November through March) as well as 2 really nice canning books.  Really unusual flavours/recipes and they're for smaller batches (1 to 4 cups, generally) so you can make some on the spur of the moment rather than having to sink an hour or three into prep work.  So yay for cool books on the way.

I also need to remember to send out my ODSP slip tomorrow.  I guess I'll do that when I go get the tube replaced.  REMEMBER, ME.
