“So, Kai, what do you think about this part? Can you play it? It’s kind of difficult, so if you want to change it I could understand.” Aoi stared in disbelief at the two men sitting at his kitchen table. Not only had they practically ignored him ever since Uruha sat down, now the other guitarist was saying this? That wasn’t like him at all! If anything, he was more the type to tell Kai to just suck it up and play.

Looking over at the drummer, Aoi saw him inspecting the music sheet carefully, tapping a finger against his lips. He wanted to pout; they were acting like he wasn’t even there. And he didn’t appreciate being ignored, especially not when he was in his home. And even less when Uruha had an arm draped so casually around Kai’s shoulders; what was up with that?

He looked up at Uruha’s face, only to see him directing a smirk at him while he leaned towards Kai some more. His eyes narrowed. Was the guitarist across from him trying to make him jealous? He huffed and turned in his chair to gaze at the wall. Secretly he wished he could pout like Uruha, or make the incredibly sad puppy face Kai had perfected over the years. Maybe he should start practicing his own sad look, because he seemed to fail at it so far.

He stuck out his bottom lip and looked into the mirror that was hanging next to the kitchen door. Wonderful; it just made him look funny. He vaguely wondered if his band mates had had lessons in this. Uruha’s lips seemed to always form a pout, it was one of the things he was known for. If Kai wanted, his pout could actually rival Uruha’s. Ruki’s was amazing. And Reita… Well, to be honest he wasn’t sure if he had ever seen the bassist pout, but with his noseband and hawk-like eyes he didn’t need to; he was probably able to scare people into paying attention to him.

Staring at himself in the mirror again, he frowned. It really wasn’t working! Maybe if he wouldn’t stick out his lip that far, but just a little bit. He tried to imagine what his friends looked like when they did this, which didn’t help. Maybe his lips were too full.

The sound of someone clearing their throat made him freeze. He slowly turned back to his friends, seeing Uruha’s large grin and Kai’s smile. “What the hell were you doing?” Uruha asked, amused. “I wasn’t doing anything.” Aoi almost winced at how defensive he sounded. “Oh, I think you were. You seemed to be pouting, or trying to, that is.” Kai rolled his eyes good-naturedly at Uruha’s insult. “Don’t listen to him, you looked cute!”

Cute? Kai thought he was cute? Aoi couldn’t stop the silly grin that was breaking out on his face. But of course Uruha had to ruin it. “Cute? Am I missing something here?” the blonde guitarist asked with a laugh. Kai blinked a few times, not knowing how to react to that. “I don’t think so… But you have to admit, the fangirls would love it”, the drummer explained carefully. Aoi’s expression turned sour. That was not the answer he would have liked to hear.

“Sure. The fangirls”, Uruha responded, smirking. “It’s okay, Kai, you don’t have to hide your feelings.” He patted Kai’s shoulder mockingly. The drummer blushed and glared, hissing something Aoi couldn’t hear. Not that he was paying a lot of attention to it anyway, because he was too happy with the brunette’s reaction to Uruha’s words.

Unless… Unless it was a trick. Maybe Uruha and Kai had planned this to make Aoi believe the drummer liked him. Not that he was sure how a person would be able to force himself to blush, but undoubtedly the blonde guitarist would have found a way and let Kai in on his secret. He made a mental note to search for it on the internet later.

Unexpectedly, someone poked him, making him squeak and jump from his chair. He stared around wildly, seeing Kai holding a hand in front of his mouth so Aoi wouldn’t hear his snigger, while Uruha, who had been the one to poke him, didn’t even bother and just laughed loudly. “Aww, Kai-chan, doesn’t he look cute with that deer-caught-in-headlights face?” the guitarist then said, smirking evilly at their band leader, who pursed his lips and looked away.

When Uruha had calmed down a bit he turned back to his fellow guitarist. “Aoi-kun, I actually have a question for you. See, I changed this part here”, he pointed it out on his sheet, “and I want to know if I changed it the way you wanted me to.” Slightly wary Aoi turned his eyes to the section Uruha meant, hoping the other man wouldn’t surprise him by jumping on his back or something. He nodded his consent when he had checked out the sheet; the song was exactly the way they had discussed it should be.

“Great!” Uruha shouted excitedly, grabbing his sheets back and putting them in his bag. Bewildered, Aoi shared a look with Kai, who appeared to be confused as well. Was that all he had come over for? He had made it seem as though he had a lot to discuss, yet this was it.

The tall guitarist sat back down, motioning for Aoi to do the same, which he did reluctantly. What could Uruha be up to? It was obvious there was something else going on.

“So, what do you guys think of the photo shoot?” Right, that didn’t make any sense. What photo shoot was he talking about all of a sudden? “What do you mean, Uru-kun?” Kai asked politely, obviously just as clueless as Aoi. Uruha stared at them both, a grin growing on his face. “Oh, did I forget to tell you? Our manager told me the two of you have to do a shoot together. Tomorrow, I believe. I wrote it down, give me a minute to look for the paper.”

Aoi was too shocked to even speak and from what he gathered from Kai’s expression he was the same. The raven-haired guitarist yanked the piece of paper from Uruha’s hand, gazing at it intently. He had been right: it would be tomorrow, at ten in the morning. Only Kai and him. All day long. It would be torture, Aoi was sure of it. How was he ever going to survive that?

“How come it will just be the two of us? It’s a bit odd to choose us, isn’t it?” the drummer suddenly asked. “Why is it odd? There was a photo shoot with Aoi and me”, Uruha retorted. Aoi scowled at the memory. What a wonderful shoot that had been, with the other guitarist teasing him the entire time by saying things about Kai between shots. That was back when he had only had an obsession with the brunette’s gloves. He had thought he had done a good job of hiding it, but unfortunately Uruha was more observant than he had counted on and he had had to deal with that all day.

“Yes, but you are both guitarists. A shoot with Reita and me would be more logical, since we’re part of the rhythm section together.” It took a while before Aoi understood what Kai was talking about; his thoughts had drifted so far away that he had forgotten what they had been discussing. Somehow, the idea of a photo shoot involving both Reita and Kai was disturbing to him. And not because he was jealous. Why would he be? Sure, Kai liked to call the bassist ‘Rei-chan’, and they hung out quite often these days, and, okay, they touched each other a lot, but that was only because they both needed physical contact and they were the same with other people.

Really, he wasn’t jealous when Kai laughed at something the blonde bassist said, he didn’t mind when they went on shows together and of course he didn’t care they had inside jokes no-one else knew about. He had never felt like bashing Reita’s head in when he saw a picture where he had his arm around the drummer and he had certainly never considered throwing him off of his balcony after he had seen the photo shoot in which Reita and Kai were handcuffed together.

…Alright, so maybe he was a little jealous, but deep down he knew Reita was just being a good friend and nothing more.

He returned to the present, realizing Kai was right; it was an unusual combination to have the two of them in a photo shoot. A guitarist and a drummer; how often did that happen? Unfortunately he had missed Uruha’s reply and now he had no other choice but to stay quiet and listen to the conversation between the other men. Maybe that would help him find out.

“So let me get this straight: you suggested this? And you chose this as the theme? What were you thinking?!” Kai glared at Uruha, although he admittedly didn’t look very impressive. Alright, so Uruha had suggested it. That seemed believable, it was something the blonde would do. He just wished he had heard what the theme of the shoot would be, because from what Kai was saying he understood it wasn’t good.

“Oh, come on, what’s the big deal? They’re just pictures, it’s nothing special. What are you so worried about?” Uruha rolled his eyes, seemingly annoyed with Kai. “Of course it’s a big deal! My mom will see those pictures, imagine her reaction! And the fans, what will they think? Or Aoi’s parents, I can’t see them liking this!” It must be really bad, because the usually calm and gentle drummer was raising his voice with every word he spoke.

Uruha let out an exasperated sigh. “Your parents will understand it’s just a photo shoot and nothing more. As for the fans… I highly doubt they’ll mind, all you have to worry about is that they won’t like it too much.” He snickered, by all appearances immensely amused.

The brunette turned to Aoi. “Why don’t you say something? Don’t tell me you think this is a good idea!” If Kai was panicking and pleading like that, Aoi couldn’t help but side with him. “Oh, no, I agree with you entirely. It’s a horrible idea, we shouldn’t do it.” Uruha rolled his eyes again. “Look, if it hadn’t been this, the two of you would have had to dress up like Gothic Lolita’s. Imagine that, dear Kai, dressing up in short, frilly dresses.” “It would have been better than this!” the brunette said stubbornly, folding his arms.

Aoi didn’t quite agree with that, though. He would love to see Kai in a short dress, but not if everyone else would be able to see him like that as well. Not to mention he wasn’t sure how he would react to seeing the drummer’s legs. If yesterday and this morning were any indication, there wouldn’t be much time for taking pictures. Think of the horror if he had to run to the bathroom every five seconds; a dress only concealed that much.

“No, I think this is better than Gothic Lolita’s”, Aoi nodded thoughtfully. “I mean… Well, dressing up like a girl is Uruha’s job, right?” he joked. It was the first thing that came to mind. The other guitarist kicked him in the shin angrily, making him curse from the pain. Kai simply stared at him in disbelief. “I don’t believe this! You actually agree with doing this? You’re insane!” Words seemed to fail him, so he shook his head and left the kitchen, mumbling something about needing to use the bathroom. “The thought of Aoi in a skimpy dress is too much for you, huh, Kai?” Uruha yelled after him, giggling when the drummer walked even faster.

Aoi had no idea what to think anymore. He had gotten so used to Uruha teasing him that this was very surprising. Did he know something about Kai Aoi didn’t?

“So, Aoi-kun, how did you sleep? Did you have any bad dreams with Kai there? Ah, who am I kidding, your mind was probably filled with the wrong things. I wonder how you kept yourself from jumping him; I can imagine it was hard for you.” Uruha sniggered, glancing towards Aoi’s lap for a moment, apparently thinking he’d see something there.

Sighing, the dark-haired guitarist leaned back in his chair. “Aren’t you funny?” he replied dryly. “I slept very well, by the way.” Okay, so that was a lie, but did Uruha really think he’d tell him something else?

“If you say so… I must say, though, that I’m almost shocked you didn’t really protest against the photo shoot. Sure, I already knew you’re a bit kinky, because of your obsession with Kai’s gloves and his scarf, but I had no idea you wouldn’t mind this. Not that I’m complaining, of course. Now I only have to convince our shy little drummer to agree.” The taller man got a pensive look on his face, probably thinking of ways accomplish what he wanted.

To be honest, Aoi was worried. Kai didn’t seem comfortable with the shoot and Uruha’s mention of him being kinky made him nervous. “What was the theme again, exactly?” he asked, trying to sound nonchalant. Uruha raised his eyebrows and smirked. “Oh, I understand it now. You didn’t hear us, did you? That’s why you didn’t react the way Kai did. I’m tempted to not tell you so you can find out for yourself tomorrow, but”, he sighed regretfully, “I’ll be nice.”

Leaning over the table he beckoned Aoi closer. When their faces were inches apart Uruha put an innocent smile on his face, which looked terribly out of place.

“I’ve arranged a BDSM-shoot. You’ll be handcuffed to a bed and Kai will be there with, I don’t know, whips or things like that. I figured it shouldn’t be only handcuffs, since that has been done more than enough and it seems kind of tame, don’t you agree?” The blonde guitarist looked awfully smug.

After a short silence Aoi jumped up with a growl, chasing a laughing Uruha through his apartment.
