Champions

I am triumphant, but sore from my travels from spring break.

Many plane and airport troubles... causing a new dislike for airports, namely Northwest. I've never had good luck with northwest... But planes I still like well enough.
In fact, I enjoy planes.

Well, we were supposed to leave teh 28th... but actually left the 29th for London. Long story short, we arrived on teh 30th hours before we were to go onstage to compete. I had to borrow Monica's dress (since she was too sick to sing and my luggage and dress were, for teh day, lost). Crazines... but though tired and most of us sick (I had a sore throat, all bubbly and painful) we, as we found out later that night, scored a superior gold rating and 1st place in teh highest division, Chamber Choir. None of the other choirs even entered in that division. We were, since beign in Chamber Choir, were rated on a higher scale than all the others. So yeah, WE ROCK WOOHOO! Not only 1st did we earn, but also the Spirit of London Award and Judges choice (out of all the choral AND instrumental groups). Fatigued times, but woohoo we are winners ^_^. We all did some sightseeing in London, mostly in a bus, giving a fishbowl effect of being separated by a piece of glass, unable to touch. I ate my fish and chips (first time I've had them, as I resolved and held out all these years of my life to have my first dish of Fish and Chips in London only). Juicy and delicious, I must say. We also went to We Will Rock You (http://queenonline.com/wewillrockyou/), a musical dedicated to all of Queen's hits, including I Want to Break Free, You Take My Breath Away, We Are The Champions, Bohemian Rhapsody, Killer Queen, Under Pressure, Who Wants to Live Forever, The Prophet’s Song, Somebody to Love, Bicycle Race, Another One Bites The Dust, Fat Bottomed Girls, Hammer to Fall, Don't Stop me Now, and of course, We Will Rock You. I TOTALLY rocked out during that musical. I had the greatest time... I love Queen!~

Next, Paris! After only 2 days in my fav European city (London), off to the most familiar one to me. It was my third time there, and we spent 4 days. Lots of bus time... uh huh. However, I did sit and write and read fo a while on the steps of the Sacre Coeur, relaxing, listening to young students sing and play guitar, at peace, comfortable. Fourth day there, before we left for the airport, we all had the honor of singing at Notre Dame Cathedral. The Prestige of this is mind-boggling. You have to send in a tape and the history of the choir is reviewed and there are all these standards and qualifications and... well, we were selected :-). We performed beautifully, sound echoing through the accoustically efficient space, and were photographed and videotaped by hundreds of tourists.

What can I say? I DO feel special. Our choir is bad-ass, and DAMN good. And, I am a part of it. ((warm smile))

Jet Lag... I never had it before, but now oh BOY. I must nap now.

Next desired destination: Japan.
