Bonbons and tea with the girls today. ;) No, not really. That was last year. Today we - that is the Three Musketeers, Hannah, Amy, and I - got together for Amy's birthday to give presents and just hang out and such, which we haven't gotten to do as a trio for a very long time. In fact, I don't remember the last time. Um. Hm. Wow, it's really been awhile. However! We'll have next weekend to catch up, as I'm taking Friday off from work and we're going down the shore together, just the three of us girls and lots of non-alcoholic beverages, hehe.
It was a grand time today. We met up at 4ish - they may very well have been there at 4, but A) I don't get out of work until 4 and B) I had to walk in the pouring rain. Also, C) I was walking with my coworker/friend Sharon and conversation tends to slow things. Anyway! We did meet up, and we basically spent until after seven at Liberty Place, because it was dry there. Also, there was food (Bassett's Original Turkey, a departure from our usual pizza, but not a bad birthday meal). Ran into two girls from my class at CAPA, dance majors both of them, and we'd been friendly at times but it was seriously one of those "Hi! Let's pretend that we were friends in high school even though we totally weren't!" kind of moments. Ah well. They were nice enough.
After Liberty Place closed, we high-tailed it to the next dry place, which was Barnes and Noble, and on the way there we ran into more CAPA people: Sarah K. and (wonder of wonders!) one of my fellow writers, H. I was so happy to see him; he's one of the people I really wish I could've stayed in contact with after high school - we never got together last summer and once college started he just kind of broke things off with everyone from school. Well, almost everyone. Obviously he's still in touch with Sarah, but he dropped out of contact with me and with some other people from our class who I know were trying to get in touch with him earlier this year. It's a shame, because he's a really cool guy. So we spent a while chatting, and it was happy. At one point I said something like, "I miss most of the people from our writing class. And by most of the people, I mean 'everyone but Dan,'" which did make him laugh, and then I had to rehash why Dan and I broke up (Answer: Because there was absolutely no good reason for us to stay together) and also why we didn't get back together (Answer: See
here). Whee. And Amy gleefully recounted her part in the story of the not-getting-back-togetherness, and it was fun.
The trio that is us eventually made it to B&N where we ended up sitting on the floor of the kids section playing (reading?) Where's Waldo. Much fun was had by all. :) Yay. I've missed these girls.
And now I need to go to bed (I know, so early!), because I have to get up at like 6ish for work, which, ew. It's eating my life, man. On the upside, I will be getting paid at some point in the future. Hopefully next week. I think. Maybe. I should probably check into that.
